Ron Paul 2008

Postby Naethyn » Tue Jun 12, 2007 1:07 pm

He's been getting a lot of attention on digg.com. I watched a few of his videos and I have to say I'm impressed - especially from the GOP debate. Which he crushed the online polls in btw.

I once said I would never vote republican, but he seems spot money with most of what I believe in. An anti-neo con republican? Can it be true? Someone who bases decisions on what the constitution says? No way! lol

There are a few youtube videos posted on his website http://www.ronpaul2008.com/

Anyone else have any opinions on him?

He is a true Republican rather than a Neo-Con.

I will be voting for him if he makes it.

Wow...

I'm going to register republican to vote for him in the primaries. I encourage EVERYONE who likes him to do the same (if you usually don't vote in the primaries... even if you wouldn't vote for him in the actual election), regardless of your politics.

The difference between having Ron Paul VS. Obama or Clinton rather than any of the other status-quo increasingly-facist-leaning neocons is HUGE.

"I like to think I've introduced a brand new idea into this campaign. I've even suggested that we follow the constitution."

Haha

Yea of everyone in the race on either side I think I like Ron Paul the best. I see a lot of very conservitive people and a lot of liberal people that seem to be taking a liking to the guy. Maybe hes just what we need right now :dunno:

I like a lot of what he says BUT I also think a universal health care plan is a necessity and one of my main concerns.

That's usually how it runs. I've never met a politician that I 100% agreed with on every single decision. I just try to find one that's as close as possible to my beliefs.

I said I liked Ron Paul after the first debate and my friend Brian said "it won't matter because only three of those guys will make it."

this bothered me, and someone mentioned in the other thread about RG that voting for third parties doesn't matter-and someone else said we're paying attention way too early...this all bothers me.

The only reason not to pay attention now-is if you would like the media to decide for you who will make it...and they have already done that, if you pay attention to the summaries after the debates. I refuse to let the media to determine my vote. They will already be doing that for the voters who don't bother to pay attention now...they just vote for whomever they hear the most about or think everyone else likes the most.

I realize that sounds ridiculous, but trust me, down here in the south, where most of the voters are straight ticket based on how their parents vote..it really matters.

He's a doctor. I think he may be more in tuned with this issue than most people realize.

Would you honestly trust the government with your body?

Ask around about VA hospitals & see what sort of quality of care is found there.

...think about it.

If I remember right Bush ran with the notion of national health care.

I'm not suggesting the government RUN the hospitals. I am suggesting they pay the bills.

If you are sick, you go to the doctor and get fixed up. The bill gets paid by the government under some kind of universal health plan.
