Should I bother choosing a major?

Or should I just wait a year or two until I get the bullshit out of the way?

CIS with no option declared yet?

Or should I just declare the option and go straight into networking etc...?

I plan on transferring out after two years.

Are you going to a university or a community college?

If university go with CIS. (I'm taking this also)

If college go with whatever you'll be able to complete the fastest.

I suggest you map out all the subjects required. Find a "temp" class that might interest you to fill the credit for every single area. Then map out on a time line those classes. This way you will not only have a projected completion date but a clear view of what path is best for you.

Also, I highly recommend taking the A+ certification courses. Not only will this allow you to start your career in college, it will also give you a good scope of hardware, software, and networking. This class will teach you how to troubleshoot and configure many different situations.

Plan on finishing a two year degree, and consider what you might want to do afterwards. No need to pick a four year major.

That's kinda what I did cept I did the 2 year courseload in 1 year by piling on credit hours and doing summer courses.

If you want a bachelor's degree...then you can utilize your first two years taking general education classes. You could finish an associate of arts with whatever classes you want and a few required courses (obv)...if you plan to go into the computer world..find someone who is doing what you want to do and ask them how they got there.

there are a bunch of nerds here who know wtf...but watch out for gen ed courses because it will be great to get those out of the way since bachelor is about higher lvl courses...and low lvl doesn't count anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

college is too complicated..i graduate with my board of trustees bachelor's dec '08 and will probably attend grad school where i am at now and pay for it by running the student gov
