I told you he took it the wrong way so I had fun with it. I totally agree with "how does this affect us? Does it or is it just interesting knowledge? Will there be a slew of new research now as a result of this?" I said Not to be a bitch, because I didnt want him thinking I was being bitchy.

Yes, that's right. We're part of a dwarf galaxy that originally orbited the Milky Way but has been so distorted by the gravity of the Milky Way that it looks like a giant letter C with the Solar system right at the point where that C intersects the disk of the Milky Way.

This finally explains why when we look at the Milky Way, it's angled across the sky. If we'd developed in the Milky Way, we should be in the same plane as the band of stars we see as the milky way, not angled to it.

For full information, go here: http://viewzone.com/milkyway.html

Make SURE to look at the quicktime animation link.

I know I'm floored.

To take a quote from Spock: Fascinating. Particularly, the changes on Jupiter and Io's interaction. Crazy man.

We are gonna destroy ourselves way before we find a way of how the galaxies alignment can better our lives.

call me crazy, but I don't think arlos posted it to let us know how it's going to improve our lives.. anyone who posts here knows he's a bit of a space geek (sorry arlos, I don't mean any offense!) so I think the intention of posting it was to share something he found fascinating

if you're looking for information to enrich your life, I suggest a website other than NT~

It doesn't have to have a factor in how we live our daily lives. It's just fun to know about how everything works or look at different theories.
