wtf are you even talking about. first of all, she got sick very suddenly and as soon as he realized it, he stayed with her constantly. secondly, he was at his brother's house in a different city until monday night (and she seemed fine when he got home), and had to work from 6:30-3:30 on tuesday, realized she was sick around 5, stayed with her until he went to bed (5 hours of which he spent holding her), then woke up in the morning to check on her around 5:30, went back to sleep, and when he woke up a half hour later, she was gone.

thirdly, i don't know why the hell you people have to attack me or my loved ones when all i'm asking for is a little bit of fucking sympathy because i just lost something that was very very dear to me. if you were expressing some sort of grief over a loss it would never occur to me to mock or ridicule a part of your life. jesus christ, if you don't have anything nice to say to someone who is hurting, then gtfo of my goddamned thread.

(p.s. thank you to those who have expressed sympathy)

By "held her" does that mean the rat was lying wheezing on his computer desk while he was in a raid?

Don't let the resident tools piss you off.

They're tools, use them for what they are there for, and discard them until further "use" is warranted.

Ya Leah, pets dieing sucks =( The family dog that I grew up with died of cancer last year, after a year of chemo. As much as I loved that dog, if it were up to me, I would have taken it out back and saved it from a year of suffering, but mom thought otherwise. Poor little sheltie had a big lump tumor the size of a softball on its throat :(

IT IS A RAT! They are snake food for crying out loud... Come whining to a message board known for flaming people and you didn't expect it?

OMGZ! My goldfish, Bubblez died today. I know she only has a lifespan of 15 days, but I really loved that fish. Feel sorry for me, please.

that was an option that josh and i talked about . . . had she made it to 8 or 9 a.m. on wednesday, he was going to take her to the vet and have her put to sleep just to save her from pain. she was gone by 6, though. :(

ya, silly me for thinking people could set aside their asshattery for five minutes to sympathize with someone who's hurting. maybe it's "just a rat" to you, but to me she was a beloved pet.

I have a cat that is 15 years old and looking kind of ragged. She should die soon. Will I miss her, but I won't come crying to an internet message board for e-sympathy. She is a pet and I can get another that very same day. Which I probably will!

So, get over your dead rat and stop posting looking for people to hug you. You're an adult I presume, try acting like one instead of some middle school crybaby.

and how exactly are you being any more of an adult than i am? showing emotion and sharing something sad with others is hardly juvenile; being compassionate isn't juvenile, either. what is juvenile is spraying your diarrhea of the mouth all over a thread which you could've just avoided, out of respect for another human being. but no, clearly you're more mature than i am for launching an unprovoked attack on someone who's upset about something and is just looking to share it with people who care (and yes, some people do care around here, just as i care about other people's trials and problems).

I believe the real problem I have with your posts is your naivety with regards to Josh's story. There is some serious skepticism about that, not just from me, but several others. You are letting him blow smoke up your ass and that is not cool.

I just think it's hard for people to sympathize with your mourning for a dead rat. I know you loved him but most people hate rats.

Had it been a dog and you said josh held it for five hours before it died it probably would have garnered a different response.

Much the same will probably be said when you die.

There are a billion Asian women in Asia so by that same rationale, should your girlfriend die tomorrow, I'd expect you to suck it up and just pay some other Asian girl to pretend to like you.

Seriously though, being emotionally detached from your pets doesn't make you super cool or more mature than anyone else. Some people love their pets like family while others don't. Doesn't make them whiners for mourning.

Sorry to hear about it Leah. My brother kept a pair of pet rats for a long time, and I know how it feels to have any loved pet pass away.

I had two pet rats (brothers) Glyph and Rune.

Rune inadvertently killed Glyph (infection as a result of the fighting) but Rune lived on for 2 years after the fact.

He used to sit on my shoulder and watch me play vidoegames like a cat would and follow the movements on the screen.

Size doesn't play a factor in how emotionally attached you can get to a pet.

we buried her in the front yard with a pretty brick as a marker . . . wrote a little message to her on the box she was in. cried quite a bit--my nose was running real bad so i had alex go get me some tissue and i had to blow my nose with mud all over my hands, it was kind of funny. comic relief.

anyhoo.

I hate rats. We took the mini me to see Ratatouille, and I had nightmares that night about opening the door and the house being covered with rats, I woke up screaming.

Your rat was kinda cute, and I am really sorry. I still hate rats, but not the tame ones, only the wild ones. They fah reak me out.

Agrajag quit being a douchebag.
