tried the week long into to EQ2, and uninstalled it within like 5 hours
got talking with Yammis (old cleric, been around forever, and we decided to reinstall EQ and goof around. )
it probably won't last, but who knows

I tried to get back into it 2 years ago, and the game was just so different. Plus, the fun for me was the constant grouping and hitting tough stuff up. Now, to get to endgame one needs an assload of AAs, tons of instance gear, and a bunch of other things I have no clue about and don't care to spend weeks figuring out...

Heh, Chardok. I still remember going in there like 1-2 days after Kunark was released. We worked our way down from the zonein to the main castle entrance right there, and were getting ready to work our way down. So, I go forward to pull, and got a sudden education about those force-bolting types that were in those alcoves before the bridge where you couldn't see them....
I go to get on the bridge, suddenly I hear casting, then *boom* I'm flying through the air and falling way th fuck down, all the way to the bottom of the zone. I feigned in midair, so didn't get jumped at the bottom, at least. But there I was, in a brand new zone, too high level for anyone to fight their way down to me, no maps on how in hell to get back out, surrounded by 800 Sarnaks that were all much higher level than me, at least half of whom were casters, the bane of feign attempts.
I figure I'm fucked, so the necro in the group heads out to go buy a coffin, and I pick a hallway at random and start doing the run-flop-run-flop routine. By sheer chance, the tunnel I picked starts heading upward, so I stick with it, and keep slowly working my way up, at least one time getting a feign off with < 100 hp left, and then got a full resist on a spell after I feigned, so that feign didn't break. Waited for mend to recycle, and kept on going. Finally, I find myself at that overhead window by the zoneout, jump off, and ran like hell for the exit, barely making it out ahead of a train. Still can't believe I made it out of there, was probably some of the best feigning I ever did. rofl.
For some reason though, I avoided Chardok as much as possible after that....

Chardok was great until that one add headed the wrong way, bringing an assload of mobs to you.
We had a great group that used to hit it up often. It was one of my fav zones, since like Tik said it was empty and had some nice drops back in the ROK days.
