How do you tell someone you know they are a liar?

Our vendor rep comes into work covered in orange. This is funny because she is a natural red head with freckles all over. She used that tanning solution to get an all over tan, but she now looks like a pumpkin, and its all over the palms of her hands as well. She tries to tell me that she has gotten this at a tanning bed and she spent XX amount of dollars on the super tanner bed. I don't want to be rude, but I know she is lieing and she looks ridiculous. Should I say nothing and let her continue to make a fool of herself? Or should I tell her the tan in a bottle looks ridiculous?

Seriously though, I know a girl who is pale white with freckles normally and lately she has gotten pretty orange. If I hadn't seen her throughout this transformation every couple of weeks, I wouldn't have believed her. If that vendor rep went from 0 to orange in less than a month, I would confront her.

Couple of reasons for the Orange look. It is possible to get that in a bed. Using a high pressure bed, if you are very pale and have no base tan, coupled with a strong bronzer lotion can do that very easily to someone fair skinned. That would explain the "orange" hands.

She could have also used the mystic tan, many people call that a "tanning bed" as well.


To put my 2 cp, in why would you need to tell her? Chances are she knows she looks like a pumpkin.

agreed - there's nothing worse than knowing you look bad and having someone else point out exactly what you're self conscious about

it'd be one thing if she's walking around bragging about how neato her tan is, but if people are asking her about it and that's what she's saying, I would probably avoid it.

Are you sure she didn't eat too many carrots. If you eat a lot of carrots you'll start to adopt the pigment and turn an orange hue. You know the oompa loompas ate a LOT of carrots
