unread being marked as read?

I've seen this a few times, wasn't sure if others have, where a forum or post will have the yellow icon (for me it's yellow) saying a new post was made but then after a refresh, without view the post or forum, it goes grey.

I notice current events and caps house were both yellow, I read that post from mindia about the dogs, went back to the main index, and noticed 2 other forums went from yellow to grey /shrug.

there is a bug in the code somewhere i just have not had time to really look for it. some day i may actually find it.

clear cache / cookies for NT, close browser, open new browser, log back in, fixed.

the opposite is happening now

unless i explicitly mark something as read, it continues to show up as Unread

I was having the same problem as that Tik.. but the same thing worked, just closed it and cleared my cache and voila.

I'm actually leaning towards this particular machine just being funky

I have all kinds of weird issues on it that I can't really explain, other than it's an odd compaq machine (ipaq)
