I guess the only apartment building I have ever lived in that had a lawn was in college and there were 16 people living in the house. I don't even know who mowed the lawn.

I just assumed it was the landlords responsibility to hire someone to do it or do it themselves. If I am paying money to live there, why would I mow the lawn?

The lawn at my old house took literally two separate days to mow, unless you wanted to spend hours of one day mowing a yard.

I personally enjoyed mowing my lawn. It was soothing with music playing. :dunno:

i like mowing the lawn, too . . . probably because i never had to do it growing up. this summer marked literally the first time i'd ever done it. i think it's fun! except it's way too damn hot around here :\ oh and too many snakes to try to avoid running over.

I used to do my great grandfather's "lawn" (it was more like the front 10 acres of his farm) and it was easily a 6 hour project. I loved it though because I got to ride his lawn tractor.

We didn't have a riding lawnmower for our monstrosity, though my grandmother had one tenth the land and had a beast of a tractor to mow it.

I loved whipping that thing around the yard when I was a kid.

I think it's funny that you all call it "mowing the lawn" because I call it "cutting the grass."

Here it is one of the three..I have no idea which is more prevalant. Some renters will personally do the yard work, some have a service come once a month or whatever...and some give the tenants the responsibility.

We have a back yard at this new house that we cut with one of those old fashioned bladed rolls, whatever they're called.

It's pretty cool...didn't know they still made those.

on the original topic, does she complain a lot, in general?

I can see how "all the time" is annoying. perhaps she should find a roommate who doesn't have a serious relationship. lots 'o people do the sleep together every night thing when they're not living together. keeps it at a good place for them-not yet living together but spending nights together.

some people do need to know when to go home though or, give it a break at least. just for the sake of doing something different-if not out of courtesy for the other roommates who might think you spend too much time over. again...could always find another roommate, too. I am suspicious of complainers' true intentions...not someone who complains about a legitimate concern..but bitching about bullshit is something else.

this is me.

i try really hard not to make a nuisance of myself but i know i get in the way sometimes. it's gotten much better now that i moved to a new apartment that's not scary to sleep at. :D

at any rate, in penance for being over at the boys' house so often, i try really hard to keep the place clean and to take a turn at mowing the lawn like once a month. it's arguable that i'm a better non-roommate roommate than the guy who refused to mow the lawn hehe

Ok here's the scoop. He comes over after work at around 10:30pm ish and raging cunt is asleep by then. RC gets up at 5am to go to work and see's his car in the guest lot and gets pissed that he's over. Dude leaves at 9am to go home. He does this usually 2-3 days a week, sometimes 4. He brings his own food (gf has a mini fridge in her room), stays confined to his gf's room (she has a bathroom in her room too) and steps out for a smoke once in a while. RC ONLY knows he's over cuz she sees his car. I asked her "Is he being discreet? If you don't notice him there, how do you even know if he's there or not?" to which she replied, "I know he's there cuz his car is parked in the fuckin guest spot." The day they moved in together he helped her move in and went into RC's room while his gf was in her room and they both closed the doors and his gf screamed at the top of her lungs to which he could barely hear so noise isn't an issue.

I think it's a typical case of raging cunt syndrome. I got this from comparing both their stories. In a like situation, I have a roomate who has his gf over 6 days a week and personally I don't care. She helps clean, stays in his room. I hardly notice she's there. She's buys us lunch and dinner once in a while and cooks from time to time to cover utils. I'm happy.

One of my old roommates had a gf like that, but she was a super cunt. Only difference between me and a lot of people is that I dont give a shit who I piss off. So one day I told her plainly that she was a cunt, she left, broke up with him, never to really be heard from again. He still hasnt completely forgiven me. Oh well, thats what he gets for not listening to my warning that I was going to tell her and still bringing her around me all the time

But you've got that whole sex factor to contimplate. Back in the day any time I thought to break up with a girl, beans and frank would always want to get some reassurance they'd be taken care of LOL

I've never heard of a landlord mowing the lawn of a house anyone I've known who rented.

yeah this is something that has be agreed upon before you move in an sign the lease. Our landlord when we rented his place had someone coming out and cutting the grass and we agreed upon this when we moved in.

Most places if you have grass, you cut it unless otherwise stipulated in the lease.

Yeah, my old landlord used to come mow my grass too every week on his own, along with trimming the bushes, etc. Was nice not having to do that while you are in school and would rathe rbe out boozing than boozing while mowing insstead. We had a KILLER land lord those few years. If something broke, like the pipe drain problems we had, he was there within the hour, no matter what time it was. He was retired and rented houses and stuff on the side for fun, so he was always available.
