I can see the attraction to exotic, even dangerous pets, however letting them run around your home? Quite an odd story though.

I'm not saying it's impossible... it just sounds kind of far-fetched and hard to believe. We all know that Black Widows are venomous, but people who get bitten by them hardly ever die. They just get sick as hell for a couple weeks and have some intense pain for a while at the bite site.

I call BS as well, I think it woul take several bites from a BW to kill a grown person unless there was an alergy or something to the venom.

Even if remotly true, sort of gross either way and I like bugs LOL

My dad has been bitten many times over the years and despite never going to the hospital for the bites, the only long term issues he has are stiff joints, almost like arthritis.

Considering the range of habitats for black widow spiders, I consider the number of deaths to be quite low at 63 deaths in a 39 year span.

Compared with shark bite victims at 39 in the same 39 year span and the habitat / encounters with humans to be greatly different, I would consider black widow spiders to be relatively harmless.

I did. Great stuff. I even watched the Mythbusters doing their Jaws special.

Animal Planet, Discovery, & Science channel represent the bulk of my non movie, non sports background noise viewing pleasure...

On the flip side, I couldn't watch a Spider Week. Sharks aren't creepy. Hairy lil bastards are...
