IRC roleplaying

Post by Harrison »

Would anyone here be interested in this sort of thing?

Shadowrun, AD&D, D20, whatever...

I could see this being fairly fun for a few nights a week and would be a welcome break from my MMO recycling.

I know some of you are huge fucking nerds and have a lot of the material lying around to make a relatively fun campaign.

If you're out of the loop, there are a lot of IRC tools centered around this sort of play.

I don't really see the point in giving the kid grief when he's trying to put something together for us.

In the age of text, this would've interested me.

However, with NWN, NWN2, Emu's, MMOs, Hack n Slashers, and other in depth games with eye candy and tools to adventure I can't see going back to my early teens/twenties and doing AD&D or Warhammer sessions..

Besides, the best part of those old sessions was the few cases of beer and pizza we'd share and BS as well as game.. Not possible in IRC...

My point is, while I am still playing these other games, I'd like to try something different.

My friends aren't anywhere near as big of nerds as I am. They play Magic The Gathering, at most.

I don't have the option of playing this shit in person.

This program looks like it could actually make it a lot of fun. :dunno:

I enjoyed powergaming in RIFTs with a GM that hated me.
Favorite time was when my Glitterboy pilot got stuck without his exosuit. Ended up rolling natural 20s over and over somehow and managed to come out of the situation unscathed. I kinda miss those days of roleplaying in my friend's basement all weekend long during the winter.
