The 3 red rings come up with just about any hardware failure aside from the DVD drive going bad which could happen I guess.

That is the only thing they extended the warranty for.

There are various other issues with the X360 that occur.

Not true, power supply on mine went out.
No red lights there.
This was not covered by this "general hardware" warranty offered.

Even though I truly enjoy my Xbox, I saw no real desire to buy the 360, cost wise, cooling problems and the main reason I enjoyed the xbox originally was the hard drive feature.


I have throughly enjoyed my Wii. And to be honest the ability to grab some of the games I enjoyed as a kid is truly worthwhile. Built in wifi was the only thing I had problems with. After 2 hours of swearing at it I found that it helps to turn my wireless access point on to begin with.
