Prilosec and nexium

Post by Ouchyfish »

I currently take Prilosec every other day and so far for the last 2 years it has made me a very happy person. No more heartburn!

I am about to switch to prevacid though even though it is by presecription only because of this constant shit going on with the FDA:

http://www.fda.gov/cder/drug/early_comm ... razole.htm

They analyze it, say it might cause cardiac problems then say no, but WTF man?

Anyways, I'm obviously hoping that prilosec is in the clear but if it isn't i guess I better go bulk up the life insurance =)

Anyone heard anything bad about prevacid lately? I used to take it like 4 years ago I believe it was.

My Dad is a GI, and I used to, at his advice, take Prilosec every day. Recently he has told me to take it every other day and, on the off days, take Pepcid. Pepcid is more of a pain b/c it's not a 24-hour release thing, but, taking one in the morning and one before I go to sleep works well enough for me.

I had chronic heartburn and reflux during both my pregnancies, and during my second my doctor prescribed Nexium for me. I fell in love with the stuff. I never had to worry about what I ate or drank (cept for obvious baby reasons) cause one littlre Nexium a day took care of it.

Pepcid Complete works for a full 24 hours for hubby and me. If you havent tried it as opposed to the regular pepcid, you might think about giving it a try. :)

I used to be prescribed prilosec before it went OTC. It was the only thing on the market that worked for me.

No, it's stopped for now, I just have massive headaches until the infection goes away.

The doctor said it's rare for that to have happened, just bad luck I suppose.

I'd take these headaches the rest of my life over the first few months of this year. My luck in everything but this has been phenomenal.
