The first link wasn't working so I replaced it with another version of the same clip.

I really tried to like this show but it just comes off as a simpsons wanna-be with annoyingly sophmoric script and trite plot. I know I am in the minority, though.

family guy is weak sauce.

it's lots of jokes and references that anyone's friends could come up with and it just tries so hard.

i would watch The Office, South Park, Survivorman, and MF'ing The soup before family guy.

    Good for you...?

The references are part of what makes it funny. Trying to say the references are why it isn't funny is just retarded.

If "anyone" could do it, it would have been done before.

that makes sense, because every show on television is remarkably new and the ideas it is based on have never been voiced before...

Never cared for Family Guy. Always struck me as a bad Simpsons knock-off, with less actual wit.

well, it's not meant to be witty

most of the humour is "omfg I can't believe they did that"

      Less witty than the Simpsons?

      ...

The Simpsons stopped being funny to me when it took more than animated violence to make me laugh. It's great pre-teen, always was, but shit...if you still find that funny now...

There is no comparison in the depth of the jokes on FG to Simpsons.

You're joking, right? You're trying to pass Family Guy shit off as deep or something? Give me a fucking break. I tried to watch that shit to see what all of the fuss was about and to anyone over 24 it's childish garbage. It has a SLIGHT maturity edge over Beavis and Butthead. It seemed to me to be a Simpsons attempt only they incorporated the "let's use more toilet humor and locker room mentality" approach.

True the Simpsons have worn thin over the years but they did it long before FG and they did it better. I promise you FG won't last as long. There's only so far you can go with that tired satire angle they depend so heavilly on.

If you're not up on pop culture (which is what most of FG's schtick is making fun of) then you probably won't "get it," thus making it easier for you to criticize it.

nope, FG is a weak knockoff of the simpsons

it's still great, but it's not as good

Out of five Simpsons episodes I might find one funny. I find myself getting a good laugh from almost every Family Guy episode. Dunno why some of you don't like it ><

      blech, I hate futurama.

I love FG and the simpsons. as far as plotlines, sure they're redundant what with the fat husband, pretty wife, 3 kids.. welcome to the world of sitcoms though - as far as that situation goes, 90% of the ones you come across are going to be ripoffs of one another.

I'm not going to say that FG is deep as far as their jokes because they're totally not - it's simply in your face 'can they really do that???' tv.

American dad makes me laugh too.

I've tried to watch Family Guy. It's painfully bad. Simpsons at least still gets a laugh out of me the two times a year I watch it (unless it's one of those musical episodes, yuck).

The new episodes may suck, but the first 10 seasons of the Simpsons has FG beat in every way.
