Teacher Accused Of Stapling Paper To Student's Head

A fourth-grade teacher's aide in Indiana has resigned after he was accused of trying to staple a piece of paper to a student's forehead.

The incident happened at Jefferson Elementary School in the Plymouth school district. Superintendent John Hill would not identify the aide or the class but confirmed the story and said: "We're just sorry that it happened. We don't expect our people to behave in that manner. That person is no longer employed by the school corporation."

But Natalie Wilson, the fourth-grader's mother, is furious and tels the South Bend Tribune that the principal called her shortly before her daughter got on the school bus Monday, more than three hours after the incident occurred.

"I should have been told immediately," Wilson said. The mother said her daughter told her she had picked up a Post-It note from the floor and stuck it to her forehead. The teacher told her to remove the paper from her forehead or he would staple it there permanently.

But when the student failed to remove the paper, he approached her with a stapler and pushed it against her forehead.

Wilson says: There were "two holes in her head. It actually punctured her skin. This was not an accident."

Should have used a roofing stapler.

LOL Dylan. I got this image of a 10 year old girl being blown backwards by Shaolin Soccer proportions and the guy holding the stapler like a handgun. The image was much funnier in my head. I think I'm going to hell now...

Maybe the kids will listen to their teachers from now on.

Just because I dropped out of the joke that was my high school, doesn't mean that while I was there I was a bad kid.

My teachers to this day would tell anyone that asked of me that I was one of their favorites. (I still talk to a few of them now and then, actually.)

Having me in class was like having a second teacher and they loved that.

NObody likes having a student who thinks they know as much as the teacher, I promise.

No, but having a student that can just as easily help teach other students while they are focusing on a slower group of kids (every class has these) is a huge plus.

Why ANY kid would have trouble in high school is beyond me, however.
