So far not so good with Vonage

Postby Ouchyfish » Thu Oct 11, 2007 8:55 pm

Ok just browsing the site and filling out all of the information but NOT clicking on "Order Service" got my checking account hit with three five dollar charges so I called them. They apologized profusely saying it was an error with their web page and said that they would waive all activation fees, etc, and all that I would have to pay for is the shipping on the equipment.

Ok...I'm an understanding guy. I paid 15 bucks for second day air. Today I was informed that since they are so engorged with new customers my equipment probably won't be here for 5-6 more days. Amazing since the guy was more than happy to let me pay the extra five bucks 2 days ago for second day air.

Now they tell me to call them when it arrives and they will refund the five dollars extra I paid for expedited shipping.

It's been 2 days and they still haven't reimbursed my 3 5 dollar charges! (They're separate from shipping charge.) lol...

Not looking too good so far...

We had a nightmare of a time setting up our service with Vonage. I don't remember all the details, but there was a ton of back and forth between Comcast & Vonage trying to get Comcast to release our number. Vonage claimed they hadn't done it yet, Comcast claimed they had. I think we were without home phone service for over a month while the two companies went back and forth. There was some other garbage too, but I can't remember the specifics. All in all, it left a pretty bad taste in my mouth for Vonage. I will say, however, that we've been using them since February/March 2006, and after the hassle of getting the service installed, we haven't had a single problem with them since.
