watching one of those NFL network specials on the 79 Steelers

apparently, they're the last team to win the superbowl with 100% homegrown players (ie everyone on the team was drafted by the steelers)

whole different era now

ps, LC Greenwood was a monster

Just a few things I think are vastly different between *then* and *now.*

1. A lot more show boaters (now). A greater number of obviously selfish players who are more worried about their own stats than the team record.

2. A lack of real team loyalty anymore (now). Yeah, you've got the Farves, the Mannings and the Bradys who'll more than likely be with their respective teams for the long haul. But anymore, players just go to highest bidder.

Makes you wonder if free agency has done more harm than good to the league over all.

Yeah, seems the players are jumping ship as quickly as their fans.

Anyone remember Lonnie Warwick? He played for the Vikings years ago as a linebacker. This is the day when they were the purple people eaters, if that rings a bell. He lives about 15 mintues from me and is one of my buddies uncles. Sitting around and listening to his old stories is fun as shit. He will tell you these teams are completely different. In his day, there was no weightlifting big like now and shit like that, they just went out and hit the shit out of each other. His stories are the shit @
