Re: World Series
Youkilis is fine. Beckett is the whiney bitch. albeit he's the best post-season pitcher in baseball, you saw him after the second inning of game one pushing the camera off because he let an RBI get by him. he's the drama queen. he even looks like a bitch. KY man is somebody i'd probably go out to the bars with.
i don't like the rockies but being a young franchise with an edgy GM i'm really surprised they're even in the series to begin with. it's too bad the rockies phoned in game one but they're getting a feel for a classy organization that they never really have to deal with in the NL. granted they got to actually play them this season, which is stupid, it's hard to blame their poor performance in game one on any single reason. the rest, the fact that the rosters are different in AL stadiums and they don't have to deal with a DH (Ortiz) in the NL, climate, altitude, whatever. boston isn't the coolest team and they're definitely becoming a posterchild for baseball after 2004 like the yankees were before them. but since the rockies have a bunch of young flourishing pitchers, they don't get a lot done when it comes down to business and they end up walking shitloads of hitters and ultimately self-destructing. we'll see what happens at mile high and we'll see if the sox sit Ortiz or if they put him at 1st or 3rd. i can't imagine they'd take Youkilis out just to keep Ortiz in the lineup though
i don't really care for either team and the indians got closed out (fuck Tigers killers), so i just want to see the rockies win because their franchise doesn't have anything under its belt and boston has a few series wins already

Re: World Series
They're going to sit Ortiz. Sitting Lowell is NOT an option with his 12 RBI's this post season. We need Youkilis on defense moreso than we need Ortiz's offensive capabilities and Youkilis isn't exactly a pushover at the plate either.
Schilling performed as well as I expected a veteran should, maintaining the all-time record for post season wins. I'm happy to see him play his last game at Fenway come out a win.
Okajima was on fire. His delivery is always fun to watch.
Papelbon did what Papelbon does, nothing really special here.
Jimenez was kicking ass (IMO) until he started losing control. He's going to be a force to be reckoned with in the future with more experience.
Overall, last night's game was more or less what I expected to see from the Rockies. Game 1 definitely wasn't indicative of what they're capable of.

Re: World Series
I've been impressed by the Rookie Dustin Pedroia from the Red Sox. I'm rooting more for the Red Sox than anything because I like the way they play, and because Pedroia is from where I used to live (Woodland, small town.) Would be nice to see the Rockies win their first though.

Ortiz is playing. Youkilis sits.
Re: World Series
Don't get me wrong, I love having Ortiz on the team, but not outside of the DH position with his sore knee.
Youkilis, in my opinion, is much more valuable as a defensive player than Ortiz is as an offensive player in this game.
If his knee was 100%, it might have been an alright decision.

Re: World Series
I'd say based on the game, playing ortiz was an excellent decision
man, what a shmuck fogg is. he should've been pulled after giving up 3 runs, much less letting him go to 6.

Re: World Series
it was nice to see the rocks' bats wake up for once
but even with hot bats it's wayyy too late in the series to have much hope
