These aren't mine, but were from the Blizzard pumpkin carving contest. I'll post two here, and then a link to this year's winners.
This is one of last year's winners:
One of this years' (pretty damn funny):

Blizz holds that contest every year, and some of the winners are 3 & 4-time winners - so they're people with a ton of experience and practice. They do whip out some pretty incredible looking pumpkins. I *love* the Ragnaros one.

Yeah, Maeya, the guy that did the undead warrior from last year is a 4-time winner this y ear, the only 4-time winner out there. Some of the stuff turned in for that contest is just unreal. -Arlos

I like Ouchy's pumpkins too. I think I try too hard sometimes to be artistic. I think next year I'll go back to just doing the classic jack o lantern faces, it was a lot more fun that way.

I duno, I had a lot of fun carving spongebob but it's probably because I know more about spongebob than 99% of the kid population and it's just my favorite.. plus it was a really easy thing to carve. That's not to take away from the normal jackolantern faces though, nothing compares to the classic really

You guys actually cut the pieces OUT of the pumpkin, though-right? If so, then you carved =) I was referring more to these folks that scrape away the outside and call it carving a pumpkin. =)
