I just found out a year ago what Blink 182 means. I live right down the road from Rancho Bernardo High School, which the kids just refer to as RB High. Some of the band members went to high school there. I guess some of the band members came up with the name by saying Blink = fuck. 182 = RB (18th and 2nd letter of alphabets) I thought that was kind of neat.

Not quite...

311 became their name after an incident in which Wills and Watson were caught skinny dipping by police. The two were charged for violating Omaha code 311 (indecent exposure). The group found this hilarious and the number stuck.

In addition, singer Doug "SA" Martinez is of Latino descent.
