EQEMU

Anyone ever tinkered with it?

I feel like I am on the verge of actually having this shit working and am just overlooking one tiny detail. If anyone is familiar with it, I have done -everything- required to set it up and am running world.exe..it won't connect to the login server. I'm worried that my goddamn firewall is blocking it but everything is off.

needle in a haystack but I figured what the hell...Im sick of banging my head against the fuckin wall =)

For someone like you, this shit would be insanely elementary...or anyone that tinkers with shit like this. In fact I bet you could have one up and running in about 1-2 hours. A lot less if you can download fast.

For me it's like trying to use a latin cookbook to make Thanksgiving dinner.

I have everything up and running, I just cannot connect to the Login server. i have tried it two different ways. one using the eqemu one and one using localhost...to no avail.

Ya know, NWN2 servers are 100 times better than any EMU setup, and insanely more customizable and personal.

Toss had a brilliant NWN1 server setup for a while, and I played on about a dozen different servers that were all well setup, fun, and without the problems that even the best EMU servers suffer from.

Download and try The Witcher, and you'll disagree. It's made from NWN.

Ha, this from a guy who ran a UO EMU server!

I disagree, and like both NWN server formats and think they work well. I wish they were more sandbox friendly, though.

I liked both NWN 1 & 2, a lot.

They still don't hold a candle to most EQemu servers.

UO wtfpwns NWN,, hands down

in a lot of ways, UO is a much better mmo base than EQ (way better crafting system, player owned housing, mounts rule, etc etc )
