Mario Galaxy - Wii

Post by Ginzburgh »

Anyone else getting this? It's getting pretty awesome reviews and looks pretty bad ass. I have a $75 gift certificate to EB games that I might have to use on this.

Fixt for me!

I preordered it. Man, I wish I had some buddies to play through games with. I think that is one of my most missed childhood memories. You know, going out and getting the new game and pulling an all nighter on the weekend to get through it, taking turns playing, help each other figure puzzles out, etc.

If you reserve it with GameStop/EB Games you get a special coin in a little book. Not sure if anyone else is doing it.

You can see it here:

because board wont let me upload images for some reason

I'll definitely be getting it once it's gotten a bit cheaper on ebay.

That would be a good idea if Craigslist personals didn't scare the fuck out of me.

I can't say enough about this game. It's absolutely incredible. Might be one of the best games I've ever played.

It's pretty good so far, but man does it give me a headache. Especially the swimming levels.

Trading my old fish tank for a Wii later on tonight. I'll probably be picking this one up soon.

No. It's my old 29gl tank. It's been sitting in the spare room for like 6 months.

I haven't seen or played jack shit for the Wii yet that would warrant trading ANYTHING for one...except maybe getting one for my kids to play it....even then...-maybe-...

Yeah... after spending a few hours with it last night, I'm pretty sure it's going to be getting a whole lot of neglect.

It came with SSX rush snowboarding and the Zelda game. The Zelda game so far has yet to pull me in and the SSX game is pretty fun but REALLY hard.

Oh well... I'm sure my son will love it when he's here.

The wii lacks engaging games. Zelda was good, Mario is great but other than that there's nothing I can sit down and play for hours.

As I've said before, the wii beyond its gimmick, is nothing.

The novelty wears off and you're left with some sub-par games that don't hold a candle to the rest of the consoles.

Yeah, I'm really surprised the thing is selling as well as it is. The wiimotes are cool but the console itself is pretty much a piece of shit. Craptastic sound and graphics and gimmicky gameplay.

Ok, Zelda is pretty cool even if it looks like shit. It feels like Ocarina of Time II though.

Some of the little things you can do with a Wii can be a lot of fun, it's just the games that utilize those little things don't have much to offer for lasting appeal. It's great to keep women entertained, at least. It's easy enough for them.

The mini-game type galaxies in Mario Galaxy are actually pretty fun. The surfing one is harder than you'd think. It'd be really cool if you could do some multiplayer Mario vs Luigi surfing... oh well.

I'll probably pick this up for the GF and the kiddo (he likes to watch mommy play, and tell her how he'd do it if he was driving ;) )
