Heisman Candidates
1. Derrick McFadden- Arkansas RB
2. Tim Tebow- Florida QB
3. Colt Brennan- Hawaii QB
4. Chase Daniels- Missouri QB
In no specific order these are the candidates for the Heisman Trophy, what do you guys think....it SHOULD be Tim Tebow but he is a sophmore so the likely of that happening isn't very well......
PS. Who got snuffed the most for not getting a vote in Dennis Dixon thats who

Re: Heisman Candidates
It should be Tebow, no if's ands or buts.
Mcfadden is a stud, but what he's done is the same as many backs in any given year over the last decade.
What Tebow's done and his presence on the field is amazing. His numbers are just staggering.

Re: Heisman Candidates
tebow ftw
his performance has been crazy
though the Hawaii QB taking his team to 23-0 and playing for the national championship this year was pretty great

Re: Heisman Candidates
I don't like Tebow for the Heismann. He'll probably win it, but he had a Brady Quinn'ish year. He put up huge stats vs. average teams, and flopped in his 3 losses vs. good defenses like Auburn and LSU.
McFadden or Brennan should win IMO. Brennan had 2 huge years and going undefeated is something of note, no matter what kind of schedule you have. McFadden turned up huge games even in his losses, except vs. Auburn.
Daniel is a good kid, but he's the ugly duckling this year.

Mcfadden had a lot of games where he was average. His entire month of October he was good, not great.
He had some breakout games late, but really the Heisman should not be determined on 2 or 3 games but a season.
Tebow only had 3 TDs against LSUs vaunted D. He had 2 TDs and was a stud against Auburn as well, without getting a lot of help.
IF you want to turn things around, Mcfadden had 43 yards against Auburn. He didn't even show up to that game. He likewise was a nonfactor in their loss to Tenn, and their winn at MSU.
Tebow's numbers and game make him the lead candidate. The only problem is a lot of people won't vote for him due to him being a Sophomore. That's ridiculous.

Re: Heisman Candidates
My first choice would have been Dennis Dixon from Oregon because he was unstoppable before he got hurt. Out of these four, I would give the award to Brennan.
Re: Heisman Candidates
Well that goes without saying that if Dixon didn't get hurt and Oregon was in the championship game, he'd be the hands down winner.
Re: Heisman Candidates
The winner is supposed to be the best player in college football regardless of what the team did and that's Dixon.
Re: Heisman Candidates
Tebow won.
Re: Heisman Candidates
not a joke. he had a crazy season.
not like it means A WHOLE LOT. i mean Gino Torreto can tell you that.

Re: Heisman Candidates
It means a lot. It's college football immortality.
It certainly doesn't mean it'll translate to NFL success. Most teams in the NFL realize overpaying RBs is a waste of cash.
You can't overpay a franchise QB, though. It's the make or break position. Doubt me? Check the top teams and see who their RB is.
