Damn, if those guys really did taunt the Tiger, then I think a Darwin award is appropriate.

Basically, the wall of the enclosure was too short.

But the guy who died was thought to have been dangling his legs through the bars of the fence, taunting the Tigers. What a tool. Now the police commissioner is denying those allegations. It will be while before they get it all sorted out. I smell liability lawsuits pending.

Hey, if my kid went to the zoo and got eaten by a tiger, I'd damn well sue the zoo too, unless they could show my kid jumped into the enclosure himself. Even then I might, cause if it was properly designed, people shouldn't be able to do that.

I'm by no means saying that taunting tigers is a brilliant move, or the kid wasn't an idiot, but if the enclosure was built properly, there should be no way whatsoever for the tiger to get out or an idiot to get in.

Hell, I've SEEN a tiger attack in person, believe it or not. I went to San Mateo High School, and one time (86, I think), as part of the big pep rally before the game against our big football rival high school (Burlingame), they brought in a live tiger from Marine World. Apparently backstage it really did act like a big pussycat, and was calm and friendly. First thing that happened when they brought it out on-stage in front of 2000 screaming high schoolers was it took one massive paw swipe at the cheerleaders who were up on stage with it. They proved surprisingly nimble and didn't get hit, and the handlers (including 1 guy who's entire job seemed to be to hit the tiger over the head with a big metal stick) got it under control really quickly.

So, for most of the rest of the rally, it was fine and just seemed to sit there. Unfortunately, apparently the football team members (who were in the first couple rows in the auditorium) kept making faces and yelling at the tiger. (Yeah, high school football players are frequently morons). So, we get to the end of the rally, the handlers stand the tiger up, and apparently it had had enough of the taunting, so it turned and jumped directly at the football players, dragging the handler on the leash after it, while the guy with a stick kept hitting it to try and get its attention away from the football players, but no luck.

I was maybe 20 rows back from the stage, and you would be amazed at how rapidly every single person in those first 15 rows suddenly got the fuck out of dodge. I could swear they about teleported, they ran so fast; vaulting over chairs, etc. About then everyone else in there decided leaving quickly was warranted, so one panicked rapid evacuation ensued. Ultimately, no one died, but one of the football players got mauled pretty good, and a couple other people got minorly injured. Dunno what lawsuits ensued, but I imagine they were substantial.

sorry chief, if your kid jumps into a tiger enclosure he deserves to get eaten, and you deserve to get castrated for raising a stupid kid

I don't have to explain myself to you. You have no argument, ever. Not even if I did explain myself, and I were wrong, would you even have an argument. You wouldn't have an argument if it were handed to you.

I don't think PETA are real people. There is no fucking way a collective group of people can be that stupid.

That's mainly comprised of my hate for PETA and the rest of their faggot ilk.

    Man I fucking hate hippies.

So you may choose not to eat animals, or use them for any purpose at all. Everyone of course has this right to choose, and no one should ever be able to take that right away from you. But don't you fucking dare try to say that anything else is wrong by some arbitrary designation fabricated by a bunch of fruitbat hippies or try to remove the right to do otherwise from other people. That is where you become an idiot.

Yes, they're much better free in the wild, where we can hunt and kill them, versus the reverse. :2m16:

I dislike some of the caging, but most animals in zoos are better cared for and loved more than any inmate in this country. Plus they get to miss out on all that survival of the fittest stuff.

I love the Zoo. I especially love the San Diego Wild Animal Park. Wonderful place to visit. The Cleveland Zoo is nice, but not as good.

now now, this would be implying that she was the crazy and you not only the human, but in addition to being human, you're not crazy.

don't be silly. ps, did you actually just quote yourself in the post 2 above..? bravo.

there are a lot of zoos that i have a problem with, but indeed there are equally as many that treat animals better than they can even slightly hope for in the wild. there's nothing i hate more than going into a zoo that has its animals in cages that are obviously not accomodating, but at the same token it's rewarding to go to one where you can actually see how loved the animals are and how well they're cared for.

what? i didn't imply that it was a post in this thread at all, i was merely pointing out that you were quoting yourself while assuming that a) people here are interested in your writings here, much less clicking on an external link to read your hate-filled drivel and b) your blog was interesting enough to quote yourself like it was a good point

not sure if you missed the memo, but people generally use the quote function to reference something said by someone else that's relevant and/or interesting. you see how i just quoted you? this is relevant because this is the post that i was referring to originally.

so to recap for your peanut-brain, i said bravo because it's funny to me that you find yourself interesting enough to think it quote-worthy. it's like a guy who laughs at his own jokes that no one else gets.
