I've always wondered if the number of Jayden's springing up has anything to do with the TNG episode "Thine Own Self".

I've always liked Vincent for a boy, Jasmine for a girl. I like names you don't come across all that often.

What ever happened to go old fashioned names like Vinny, Tony, Nikki. I bet you 100 bucks that Vinny, Tony, and Nikki would kick the fucking shit out of Aiden, Ethan and Jacob. Jayden is a fucking girls name way to make your kid a fucking homo, I guess this is pushing forward the idea that children are born gay.

    names go through cycles.

i'm sure elsie, dora, margaret, martha, dorothy, dick, and john said the same thing about ashley, mike, brian and jay.

ps - kind of surprised not to see dakota on there, i swore it was the next big thing a couple years ago when i was teaching. i had 6 kids of both sexes in our little school of 40 or so by that name.

I have a nephew named Jayden and one named Noah. I don't like that spelling of Aiden, I prefer Aidan. My newest nephew is Noah Aidan. I loathe Vinny, Vincent or any variation thereof, I have two cousins by that name. Madison used to be my favorite girls name until everyone started naming their kid that. Four of my co-workers who've had kids in the past couple of years have named their baby Madison.

We are trying to pick out names now that we know another boy is on the way. I HATE picking out boy names! I don't want a common name so I almost instantly rule out the top 50 ones. We have some ideas but not one that stands out really yet.

Braysen came about after I was going to do Brayden and that was becoming the common "den" - aiden, brayden, caden, jayden etc. names. "Brasen" is actually a real baby name meaning gift from god but I wanted it to be spelled with a Y so it was pronounced Bray instead of Bra.

Our girls name has been picked out for years and isn't on any list but I am destined to be stuck with boys it seems!

Braysen sounds Celtic and I know Braden is Celtic, I love Celtic names. How about Rhys pronounced Reese that's always been a favorite. Bryant, Cullen, Tegan or Kegan pronounced Tee/Kee and Camden are all names i've never heard on any kid but I love them. Cian pronounced Kee-an is another of my favorites. I've picked out the names for 4 nephews and 1 niece so far. Other than 1 that i'd go back and change (I was 13!) they are all good names.

    We love Irish/Celtic/Gaelic names :)
We have a list of them for the boys name and Teagan/Teagun Keagun/Keagen whatever names are in that top actually. We have a few others in there - Brennon I like but is too close to Braysen. Kieren can be girl sounding so Ven doesn't like that although I like it. Cahlan (Colin) I like but we have a Colin that was born in May across the street.

Guess we'll see :) we have a few months yet!

All our kids have Irish/Gaelic names.

Breanna (which we chose without knowing it was rising in popularity)
    Liam
    Riley

Riley is a family name and it somewhat irritates me now that so many people are it as a girls name.

If I have a daughter I'm naming her Bertha. That way I never have to worry about fighting away horny boys because that name guarantees that she weighs 800 lbs. "Don't worry honey, daddy loves you. I'm the only man you need in your life. Have another cheesecake or 3."

    QFT.

I really really really don't want a daughter.

Not because I wouldn't love having one, but I'd hate losing my hair when she turns 14 and I have to stay up all night on the porch with a shotgun.
