Son of a bitch, I maybe found where the captain went....
and maybe even why he poofed
Before he poofed, Ryan and I had been talking for a while about building, and pushing HTPCs, and whole home networks. his pc building/selling/ebay business was doing alright and was at the point where he was getting deep enough discounts on parts, that we could put together nice high end systems and make an ok amount of money that way.
I'd also mentioned that the real money would be in the installation/support of said systems, and that branching out into independent dealers and what not would be the way to go
today I stumbled across this site
http://www.fuzeav.com
it's virtually identical to one of the later prototypes we'd played with, the business model is identical and the fusepc/fuzeav isn't much of a stretch at all
http://fuzeav.com/InteractiveDemo.aspx
if you look at that page, that's the exact gui layout I'd sent him
that being said, it's not like what I'd sent him was 100% revolutionary, and no one else was working on identical stuff
I just thought it was a really amazing coincidence....

The company is based in San Jose as well. Isn't that where Ryan lived? No mention of Ryan in the partners bio.

FUZE™ Founder, President, and CTO Richard Fenwick (formerly VP of R&D/Engineering at OnCommand Video) expressed his excitement about his company’s product launch: “In addition to designing the industry’s most powerful media management solution, we’ve delivered the simplest system available. This system will revolutionize home entertainment because it is the only system that delivers easy-to-use, true whole-home capability—including HDTV.”
The company noted that it will publicly exhibit its system at CEDIA in September at booth 3605.
About FUZE™ Media Systems
Founded by former OnCommand Video executives, FUZE™ Media Systems shatters conventional notions about home entertainment. FUZE™ is the first media-driven whole-home entertainment solution. Built from the ground-up to manage media (not a control or MCE system), FUZE™ delivers a complete system that stores, manages, organizes, and distributes all of your digital media—to any part of the home. Live TV, recorded TV, movies, videos, music, digital photos, and more are all stored and managed centrally. Most importantly, media is no longer tied to a particular device or a particular location in the home. Regardless of where a user records a show or video (HD included)—or where music or photos were originally stored—any TV or speaker in the home can easily access any media at the touch of a button. To learn more about FUZE™, visit http://www.fuzeav.com, email info@fuzeav.com, or call 408.363.8090."

From that and other things that I have read, it goes well beyond the simple HTPC idea & closer to the Pronto shit with home automation / entertainment.

That would be neat to find out he's not really dead... but it makes me wonder why everyone's concerned phone calls/ PMs/ Emails went unanswered.

yah, a little disconcerting to not see his name in the management but it's definitely the name of his company...very neat, awesome looking out, tikker. thanks for posting.

Wouldn't surprise me. The guy was planning on getting his own business rolling. I also doubt he died, and the situation with Goose and him pretty much points in that direction.

well, I never really knew him. I saw his posts here, of course.
But the idea of ignoring/pretending death to the bunch of people here who were apparently really concerned about him makes me think he must be a deep down, do-not-pass-go-&-get-$200 asshole.

hmmmm i think i will choose to believe that this is where he ended up and that he just wanted to drop out of his e-life to focus on business.
because the alternative is a big huge bummer

Off topic:
Im sitting here listening to a commercial on some channel and, as always, its a commercial for male enhancement.
Now, I get what it *does* just not how it does it. Gid tried to explain it to me earlier, something about vessels or something and I just smiled and nodded but couldnt get into it more because I had to head to work....I think that was this morning....days are a fuzz.
So uh, it claims to make you longer. But when youre at....full capacity...arent you as long as you get?
Also, the E.D. medicines. If you cant raise the flag on a normal day, how can you raise at will with one of those 36 hour pills? Is it a miracle cure? Does it have the ability to raise the dead?
I really shouldnt even submit this......

the ED stuff works by constricting the blood vessels that lead out of the wang
blood gets in, can't get out as fast, bam, hard-on
same idea as a cock ring
