need a good ram test utility

I've got a machine at home that's behaving a bit oddly, and I'd just like to rule out the ram as going bad

every now and then it just refuses to post until I remove the power completely, then plug it back in, and it powers up ok, but it pauses on the post screen with a mesg something about "the last overclocking action has failed, push any key to continue"

this machine isn't overclocked at all, but the ram is in a dual channel configuration and only thing I can think of is that since it runs 400mhz instead of 333 in dual channel, that 1 (or maybe both) sticks of ram are less than perfect, and that's what's causing the issue

does not sound like ram, since you need to remove your ground potential to reset it, and only thing that has current through it when it shut down is power source, i'd check that first, sounds like one of filter circuits is generating more voltage that it seposed to and makes bios think that you sending it on purpose(overclocking)

I finally got memtest burned to a cd, and my system now refuses to POST

I've swapped in different memory modules, and it didn't make a difference, so I'm kinda leaning towards the mobo being flaky

On Ganzo's suggestion, I checked all the voltages off the PSU, and they all look really good, so I don't think it's that

we'll see if MSI can come up with any ideas
