Mindia.. My beef with Romney.

Mindia.. My beef with Romney.
He's everything that's wrong with Politics. He's from wealth, he equates mormon missionary work with people serving in the military, he is a real flip flopper, and he'll say or do anything to get elected.
In essence, the man is the polar opposite of a John Mccain.
I'd rather Obama was elected than Romney.

All politicians will say whatever they have to to get elected. Its their crooked way of life
Re: Mindia.. My beef with Romney.
Romney is a snake. I swear he sheds his skin every time he talks.
Inside each person lives two wolves. One is loyal, kind, respectful, humble and open to the mystery of life. The other is greedy, jealous, hateful, afraid and blind to the wonders of life. They are in battle for your spirit. The one who wins is the one you feed.

Ok, I'm not seeing the same thing you guys are with Romney. I like him so far. It would be interesting that when he wins the nomination that he chooses McCain or Giuliani as his V.P. His belief in what happens in the afterlife has no bearing whatsoever on his ability to lead a nation, nor do I care that he's LDS. He's a smart businessman too, and he does have that "presidential stature" that I don't see from any other candidate on either side of the aisle. Now, I haven't made up my mind about him yet, but so far I don't have any big issues with him.

Neither would join a ticket with Romney. He'll go to someone to offset the Mormonism, in my opinion.

My main concerns are that he doesn't cater to big oil, and that he strengthens our border with Mexico. I would also like to see health care affordable to all U.S. citizens.

Thompson
Romney
Guiliani
Paul - Surprise surprise? Really I just pretty much despise the two below him.
McCain - I'd probably vote for Obama before McCain.
Huckabee *screw it I vote for whomever the democrat turns out to be.
That is pretty much my order of preference. I don't think Thompson will win the nomination but I'll likely vote for him in the primaries.

Lueyen see my post in the other thread...
what do you think of Thompson jumping on with McCain? Think McCain would go with Leiberman?

Fred will be pulling out this week. I like Fred, also, and it's a shame he didn't enter and campaign with the vigor he showed in the last debate.
Remove Huckabee and flip your list and you have my preferences, but we diverge greatly on our desires for a President, I think. It's nice having candidates that are actually different and debate actual views, besides which was a shadier lawyer.

I hadn't really considered that much. I still wouldn't be terribly happy about it, although it would be more likely to swing my vote that way, I'm not 100 percent sure it would.

Yet we have the oh so subtle indicator that we have similar disdain for at least one of the candidates... I noticed you didn't say put him back in somewhere lol.
Incidentally I would place him in the shadier lawyer class.

Re: Mindia.. My beef with Romney.
I'm trying to find a quick list of Romney's "beliefs" and compare them to what they were even 1 year ago.
He's a fucking tool. He tries to change his supposed views every chance he gets if he believes it will garner him a wider support. I said from day one this guy is a fucking retard mainly because of his bullshit done in this state as Governor. The rest that came after was just icing on his cake of bullshit.

Am I reading this right? You want the president to cater to big oil and not strenghten the mexican border?
For you

Re: Mindia.. My beef with Romney.
Im going to say it again...they all will say whatever will get them elected. Thats their job.

This is true to a certain degree. Each candidate is saying different things though for the most part. The Dems agree with each other on some issues, the same with the Reps but each candidate tries to come up with a unique platform to work from.
Re: Mindia.. My beef with Romney.
Yeah, but then when they see their platform is utterly failing, they will change it around it seems like to get on the winning side, I guess like they mentioned above. One reason I just cant follow politics too much. Same shit different day and different candidate

Thompson just quit.

good thing he gave up his Law and Order gig
Re: Mindia.. My beef with Romney.
as much as it hurts to say it, chances are unless someone badass with a (D) behind their name decides to come in at the last minute i will be voting republican this election
i can't stomach hillary in the slightest, and i think the only issues i really agree with obama on are affordable healthcare (which every canidate aside from that crackpot Paul are saying) and iraq.
right now i'm giving the nod to romney simply for the fact that he's a michigan boy with a background in the auto industry. that leaves me with a small glinting hope that just maybe he has a softspot for home, and will actually make an attempt to help the industry instead of bending it over w/o lube. but im not naive enough to really think he means a thing he says.. he is a politician through and through. just like the rest of them.
either way, i won't be voting with any kind of confidence in the name i check off.
