All I am hearing again all of a sudden is GUILIANI (again, in spite of the fact that he is no longer a frontrunner) and with that we'll see what happens in Florida. I don't think anyone wants to venture to predict what'll happen and I wouldn't have any way to know what Florida will do. Such an interesting race, gotta consider who's voting for what in Florida.

Border state, illegal immigrants, but lots of retirement in Florida too. Not sure what their issues will be that make the decision so I can't predict somebody...but I can say with some confidence that I don't think it'll be Guiliani at this point.

right now i'm giving the nod to romney simply for the fact that he's a michigan boy with a background in the auto industry. that leaves me with a small glinting hope that just maybe he has a softspot for home, and will actually make an attempt to help the industry instead of bending it over w/o lube. but im not naive enough to really think he means a thing he says.. he is a politician through and through. just like the rest of them.

either way, i won't be voting with any kind of confidence in the name i check off.

Well, Romney's the strongest republican candidate imo. I'd love to see a Romney/Giuliani ticket.

Ok, he's mormon. This to me raises all kinds of red flags. (I think Mormons are retarded)

He campaigned so hard saying his religious beliefs won't affect his actions as Governor. l o l

Romney wrote:One of the great things about our nation . . . is that we're each entitled to have strong, personal beliefs

Romney wrote:But, as a nation, we recognize the right of all people to believe as they want and not to impose our beliefs on other people.

Now, he starts off as pro-choice...changes his mind, and again when it becomes another hotbutton issue, and then AGAIN. He is now, to my knowledge, pro-life. This doesn't differ from my own view, but I despise liars. I can't take this guy seriously for that point alone. But there's more...

Gay rights, same shit...flip flopping like a motherfucker.

He supports the "don't ask, don't tell" policy in the military, then he doesn't. He supports gay marriage, and now he doesn't. (I believe he still doesn't, it's too difficult keeping track of this stupid motherfucker's flip-flopping since I first started paying attention years back)

But his emphasis has shifted in the last two years. As he moves into this new phase of his career, Mr. Romney rarely talks about the need to protect gay men and lesbians from bias, instead presenting himself as a conservative stalwart in the fight against same-sex marriage, arguing that legally recognizing same-sex unions endangers the cultural support for heterosexual families.

He supports "no child left behind" now, didn't before. The list really is endless on his flip-flopping...

My main thing, is I hate being lied to more than anything, by anyone. He is a piece of shit catering to as many people as possible hoping no one will catch on to his lies.

I'm sure I could dig up more, but I have a social life to attend to. I've already been drinking and this is boring the fuck out of me seeing as it's all public anyways and any of you could read it if you did a few quick searches.

He knows he can look up what Romney's done. You want him to search your posts for reasons you don't like him?

why act so pompous? it doesn't suit you. you took a little bitch tone with him over answering a question...a perfectly good question, one I was interested in hearing the answer to as well, considering we know you live in Massachusetts. Also were your ears ringing earlier? I was talking about you to my friend.

This is an incredibly stupid reason to say you don't support a candidate.

I can't stand Romney myself, but it's completely due to the air of pure politician about him and the fact that he's trying to pool all votes from both sides and in this effort he forgets his own stances. I also cannot stand how he uses his wife in his campaign parading her MS so that people relate with the oh wow that's so inspiring! side. I mean sure, MS sucks, good on anyone who deals with it with grace - but don't advertise it during your campaign. He's also had a little bit of history of slamming other candidates in ads.. not cool with that. It's one of the most petty ways to campaign, and it's certainly not something that will get my vote. If you want to put someone into question, you do it at a debate.

On the republican side, there's only 2 candidates I'd be comfortable with, and one who's actually feasible for the republican ticket.. but that still won't stop me from voting for my candidate, regardless of his feasibility.

Anyhow, for as opposed to him as you are, I was hoping for a better argument and some actual substance regarding what he's actually done in MA, because I haven't got a clue and haven't researched him past his surface.. but if you're going to use what he's done in MA as a reason not to like him, please provide examples.

I'm sure I could dig up more, but I have a social life to attend to. I've already been drinking and this is boring the fuck out of me seeing as it's all public anyways and any of you could read it if you did a few quick searches.

is just another way of saying 'i'm sick of googling and can't find anything concrete to back myself' - all I'm saying is if you don't know why you hate him other than bleating with the rest of them, don't bother attempting discussing it like an adult because statements like that are just a really sad (and common for you) excuse not to explain yourself properly.

I would really love to know how he's 'fucked up MA' as you've said - please don't tell me to go look it up because 'you don't have the time' - I'm asking for your stance. You, a resident of MA who's seen firsthand what he's done with your state.. not google's.

Harrison, you really hate mormons? That's kind of silly. Are they ramming their religion down your throat or something? I have yet to meet a mormon I didn't like. They are super friendly people from what I've experienced. The only person I've ever talked to who was a mormon (albeit a former mormon) that I thought was a bad person, was Vonkaar.

yeah, i don't remember anywhere in the constitution where it says a mormon can't be president

besides, i think most* people that call themselves christian don't make any effort to emulate christ whatsoever, so really, what's the difference?

Well, the key difference is that Joseph Smith was around only 200-some years ago. There are plenty of records on him and the founding of the religion (like the fact that he was arrested several times as a "diviner" con-man before starting the religion) that make it a VERIFIABLY stupid belief system - even relative to the other religions out there. For someone to believe rather bizarre ideas (again, even relative to most religions) in the face of mountains of actual evidence to the contrary has a fundamental lack of grasp on reality. That doesn't equate to good presidential traits.

i don't give a crap if the religion was invented last week by david hasselhoff and dan marino and it involves wearing chaps while you sing dan fogelberg songs

if the end result is that it causes you to treat all humans equally with respect, dignity, and compassion, that's good enough for me

Did you read the whole post at all? I agreed with you on one point. I also asked you to back up why he ruined MA. I wasn't shitty to you at all, but typical Harrison, you have no answers so you attack.

If you're just a worthless piece of shit who doesn't know anything just say so, don't act like you have this strong stance on something then lash out when you can't back it.

Romney irritates me because I think his attitude is shitty. He's snide and rude and always has a superior smirk on his face.

I want a President that can listen respectfully to a dissenting opinion and come back with valid points and counterarguments, not jibes and sly remarks. Romney is unable to do that. He cannot debate with another person without trying to tear them down on a personal level. That's petty and speaks volumes to the type of person he is and what type of President he would be.
Inside each person lives two wolves. One is loyal, kind, respectful, humble and open to the mystery of life. The other is greedy, jealous, hateful, afraid and blind to the wonders of life. They are in battle for your spirit. The one who wins is the one you feed.

A Mormon doesn't represent the majority of Americans as a president should. A Christian president would. Simple as that.

he's got you there.

I personally do not want my nation being represented as any religion. We are far too diverse a country and that's exactly what we pride ourselves in - if a president is a certain religion, great, whatever works for you.. but do NOT speak for the rest of the people in this country as a religion, it has no place today's dealings in the government.
