I just wish I could go back in time to find the greeting card executive who came up with valentine's day so that I could flay him alive, douse him in honey, and stake him out for fire ants.

Valentine's Day story: I get home from seeing a movie (Jumper, sucked) with an ex that "kidnapped" me so she wouldn't be alone on Valentine's day, and my Mom told me she got some things for me while out shopping. Aww, that's nice of you Mom!

She bought me a pair of boxers that say "You looked better on Myspace" all over them. Brilliant. However, the fact that it was given to me on Valentine's day makes it odd enough to be worth sharing. Also a pair of Nintendo pajama pants, which are pretty damn cool.

That is all. Anything else have something worth sharing?

What a gay valentines day it was. I was gonna get drunk or something and but got a fucking call right when I was packin up to head home sayin one of my belt lines was down on the section underground, so i got to go change couplings out on it til 6pm or so in a 38" ceiling mine. Then, on the way back out, there was a roof fall in the intake, so we were trapped in for 2 more hours while they cleared a path~ So no, valentines day was not very fun.

ok first of all, before josh, my dating life was practically nonexistant and i'd never had a boyfriend on vday before. so really i have three vdays to work with here.

first year: josh had to work early and was subsequently super super tired when he got home from work and fell asleep whilst i was making dinner. he woke up and we ate and then we went to bed early b/c he had to do the same thing the next day and i had to drive back to hastings to make it to a class at 9 in the morning.

second year: flowers.com screwed up the flower delivery so i didn't get the flowers he'd ordered until the day after vday and our plans for that night got mucked up and so we ended up making dinner and watching a dumb movie, which would have been fine except that it was just a lot of dashed expectations because as we all know, vday is all about hype and pressure and blah blah.

so this year, we decided to just forget about all the hooplah and plan on a nice evening at home, period. so i got him a card and told him to do the same and that was going to be it. but on my way home from work, he called to tell me that he forgot the card in his friend's car, so i was kind of sad pandas but when i got to his house, he surprised me with tulips (my favorite) and ratatouille (which i've been wanting really bad). we went to the grocery store and got some really yummy easy-to-make food and a slice of cheesecake and then went to my place to watch the movie. it was mellow, laid-back, sweet, and perfect--no pressure, no expectations, just us enjoying each other's company with a little bit of a sweet surprise thrown in. :D

so yes, yesterday was the best valentine's day i've ever had!
