mackie d8b?

i have used a few mackies in live situations. damn good stuff sir. never used this model thou.

This had some of the songs were recorded on a 24 trac mackie and some on an Teac. just FYI. Damn those eyes is the only one listed that has a playable clip thou.

I've never used one of their digital mixers. I had a 1604 for years and that thing was built like a tank. I now have a cheapo Berhinger 24 channel but I usually only use it for laying down stereo tracks, no multitracking. Mackie builds quality stuff and that sounds like a sweet deal for a 24track digital package.

that's what i'm thinking. it's old enough to have decreased in price, but not so old that it's outdated. i have always liked mackie stuff. i've been told to stay away from behringer though, as most of their stuff is (poorly) reverse-engineered from other companies.

now the question arises as to what to do with my tax refund. i will have about $500 after i put a deposit on a new apartment and fix my brakes, do i cough up a little extra and get myself a d8b and a HDR24/96 to go with it, or do i just pick up that 60GB PS3 i've been eyeing?

Remember, even though the PS3 might be coming down in price, the price of games is still up there... that is one thing that always turns me off from even thinking about console gaming again. Figure one game a month, what else could you be spending your money on?
