I still think that bottled water is one of the biggest and most successful consumer scams , ever. Test after test shows that, for most places anyway, the tap water is actually HIGHER quality than the bottled water. Not to mention, the tap water has flouride in it, which, despite the alarms of some conspiracy theorists, just helps build up the strength of your teeth.

Fluoridation is the most monstrously conceived and dangerous communist plot we have ever had to face.

However I had a rather long debate with my 65+ year old dentist about this. He was in the army, traveled the world, as a dentist, yadda yadda. Saw all sorts of teeth to say the least.

There is a reason why our teeth are tyipcally better than most / many countries, and that reason is the floride in the water.

In one statement he summed it up pretty good, "the detriment of floride in the water vs the costs and other complications caused by NOT doing, it was a no brainer". Not saying this guy was some sort of dental god, but it was a good debate and he refuted my devils advocate attitude I often take. However lets not de-rail this

You can choose not to use it and buy the bottled or other water sources.

Based on the findings of the report, my conclusion was that this idea was not a practical deterrent for reasons which at this moment must be all too obvious.
