Shadowbane

Post by Lyion »

I'm bored. It's free. I'm screwing around in it if anyone wants to check it out.

Did I mention it's free?

The Shadowbane servers are going to be wiped in March. The game itself is now pretty stable, and while it's a bit dated graphics wise, it's a sandbox MMO with less rules and a lot more danger.

It was free last time I downloaded it and it wasn't worth the price.

It'll probably suck, but with the upcoming wipe, I'll screw around a bit.

How long ago did you play Zan? Any specific complaints or was it just really bad?

Wipes in MMOs make me want to play them simply for the competition that ensues afterwards.

Wipes in a sandbox totally open PVP world are even better.

It was about 6 months ago, maybe a year. The real appeal to me was the versatility of the class system. The idea is probably the best and most deep class system of any MMO. The gameplay on the other hand is just terrible. Plus the group mentality is just so frustrating. PUGs would just be a group of people killing random mobs without any organization. People would regularly KS your kills. Groups would steamroll you camps, and there weren't enough spawns to handle the players so you'd have to join the noobs to get exp.
