I wouldnt use e-bay unless you think you can sell it really fast, because ebay will pull your auction if its for an account. Happened to me when I was selling my EQ account. You can try MMObay.net, can't attest to how trustworthy it is though.

The best way is to sell it to an individual minus the medium. You can do that generally through having a high profile during your WoW career : )

I've got no complaints. I was able to pay rent quite often back in the day simply by selling plat.

I sold my 2 EQ accounts for 3k. That was EQ and a lot of work and time, though, and back in 2002.

I can't fathom someone spending that kind of coin on a WOW account, though. It's just too easy to level and too easy to get equipment, especially with the current PVP welfare epics and other endgame avenues.

Also, it's too easy to retake an account. All it takes is a phone call and the original credit card.

I was making 200-300 a week exploiting the ever living shit out of planes of power drops 2boxing.

The fish roll exploit before that made me at least $500 before they WTFPWNT it and brought all the servers down to fix it.

There are probably some people that have higher wage jobs and really enjoy EQ or WoW, but just don't have the time to be grinding a character or camping items for hours on end due to work. In those cases it probably DOES seem more cost effective to just buy characters or plat (ie, if they make 50$ an hour, a top-top end EQ character might cost them $500: that's 10 hours of work versus about 10x that amount of hours doing boring shit like camping CoA signets and epic drops and level grinding or whatever).

If I had the unstoppable itch to play EQ big-time again and I didn't have my 70 wiz/necro, I'd probably be buying a character if I couldn't borrow one.

If you consider playing the game work, why in the world would you pay for an account that essentially requires a boatload more 'work' after you get it?

I'm not a huge WOW player, but I've easily leveled several characters to 70.

most people aren't you guys. plenty of people with the money would pay 200.00 just to get a high level character that they could run all over a game with.

i would just never do it because i enjoy playing through lower levels, but if i had that kind of expendable cash and a wife who wouldn't lop off my berries, i would do it. i never got uber in EQ but had friends who did so I would love to be able to hit all the zones they got to see and hang there.

plus, i could only play about an hour - hour and a half most so i would not be able to get there, particualrly in EQ, anytime soon.

shit when i started selling plat it was $1000 US for 100k . Damn we made fat cash with farming sleepers on maelin. On a good weekend and by good i mean one where the server crashed a few times, we could pull in $20-30,000 worth of stuff . I mean we got 14 SoDs in one weekend one time.

Before Luclin came out plat was 100k for 1k US. A RBG went for 50k and it would sell for $500 flat easy . That was the general bench mark. Of course there was only a hand ful of us around back then, I mean i know there us and Creson, and the kumdaan,leiel, ralvien, crew i think finger too. But yeah even a solid day of farming in OS king group could get you a solid 4-500/day just winning 1 fungi

Hate to say it, but you were wrong.

I started selling and sold to "friends" privately at $75 for 10kpp bundles which was $25 cheaper than the going rate from other sources. This was prior to the release of Luclin in the heyday of Velious.
