Portable Video on the DS

Post by Tikker »

any of the DS owners here spend a lot of time commuting?

for camping trips and stuff I convert cartoons/movies/etc to play back on my DS for my little guy

it's amazing how donald duck clips keep him quiet and entertained on a long drive

anyway, if anyone's interested, there's a pretty stable set of tools for the DS to convert pretty much anything to something you can play on the DS with a homebrew cart. the same stuff will also play mp3's or OGG if you're a music snob.

can read eBooks as well which is surprisingly decent on the DS

yeah

rather than dpgenc I use batchdpg. seems to work a tiny bit faster, and I think produces a better looking video.

the big bonus of course is the ability to batch encode.

1.3 beta 45 is probably the best version. multicore support doesn.t work yet, so don't fiddle with that
