I put Everquest on a piece of shit Dell that my step mom uses so I can use it if I stay over there for awhile and want something to do. That was about a year ago. Now they have kazaa and a bunch of other random spyware, and always they keep coming back to blaming Everquest. I find it very hard to believe that virus' travel through Everquest more than they would kazaa and other piece of shit programs. I really need to move away from these people.

Get her to put the mayonaise sandwich long enough to buy a decent virus scanner (I prefer Norton-my friends that swear by Mcaffee have gotten 4 viruses so far on updated machines whereas I have gotten zero.) and then you take the fucking initiative to download Adaware and Spybot S+D.

If the shit still gets through, burn the fucking trailer down.

Any person computer illiterate enough to believe viruses come from Everquest more than/and not from Kazaa is obviously enough so that they wouldn't know a program was installed on their PC unless it was located in a very blatant area or they were made aware.

Look around for some articles or something that you could print out and put together a presetntation for your parents about spyware and the reason it was created. If you approach them responsibly with respect and a good presentation, at least you can say you have done everything to educate them on things they might not understand.

I perfer my approach, inform them they are fucking stupid in a manor it would take them awhile to figure out what I said. Then I would tell them just because they back eachother doesn't mean they are right.
