wuwu, 1 for 4 last round

I retire from predictions, all I hope is that the rest of the playoffs are as entertaining as the dallas/sj series

The stars better step up their game or they'll be done in 4. The game wasn't even fun to watch until the third when it seemed like the stars started to really try.

it's tough to be ready for game 1 when your last elimination game went 4 OT's

Listen . . . .

Did you hear that, probably not, I'm rubbing my index finger against my thumb mocking a violin. Tired or not, they better step up or they'll be a falling stars.

Didn't another superstar of sorts just get pulled from the other series, blood clot or something in the foot?

The Stars got killed last night by the powerplays. They should stop committing penalties or learn how to play short-handed better.

If only we could coax Scotty Bowman out of retirement... ;)

If Toronto couldn't get Bowman to join forces, I doubt any team could.

People are difficult to coax out of the family like establishment that the Redwings set up for the back office crew. Same money for a fraction of the work? I wouldn't leave either.

I could have gone with this had the same thing happened last night but in truth, the stars just can't compete against the wings. It was a good game but as soon as we scored a short handed gaol, I figured the stars were done for, they7 just aren't playing very good IMO.

3 more games for the wings to win and they'll break a NHL record for most consecutive games won in the playoffs.

I guess Philly never showed up this series. 4 shots = 2 goals and it the fans go deadly quiet. That's gotta suck for guys in Philly uniform. It was like they all knew this series is over.

stuff like that happens when you end up accomplishing more than you expected.

deep down when you accomplish more than you expected out of a season you sometimes let down in later rounds

In the Montreal series Philly was outshot and outchanced every game. What saved them was Montreal's inability to capitalise on very good scoring chances (how many posts/crossbars did montreal hit that series) and Price letting in to many soft ones.

Now Philly has a team much like Montreal but with the addition that this new team does capitalise. Instead of crossbars and posts they hit the back of the net.

Philly should have been out last round IMO but...

Sorry if this sounds like a broken record or too much a fanboi for the Wings but in watching the game last night, the PA teams and the techniques they use, either dump and run, x-cross at the blue line, etc, just watching them play vs how the wings have been playing, neither of the PA teams are going to be real competition to the wings.

Now, that all said, I'll be the first to say, the wings are choke artists, they've choked so many times in previous seasons it makes one sick. However, if they hold stuff together for the next few weeks, they could play at 80% of their game and still beat a 110% PA team.

I haven't watched the Wings play in recent years but didn't they lose to the Devils a few years back? And outside of the Ducks, I think the East has won the last couple cups. Maybe wrong on that but I'm too lazy to look up sports facts on the web. Can someone with a couple minutes of time to kill back up my claims? Thanks.

So yeah, maybe your wings look good and the PA teams look slow and boring but I wouldn't start etching my teams name just yet.

The suggestion from one of the local columnists for who the Sharks should go for as coach is Pat Burns, now that he's over his bouts of Cancer.

Would seem to be a decent fit, thoughts?

And that was why I said they are choke artists. They've blown things like this before, it was good to seem the clicking again last night. The Stars seems a bit out of it and played pretty pourly. Where game 4 and 5 the stars were really doing well, they seemed to have lost their steam for game 6.

I'm in PA this week, I didn't realize the first game was going to be Saturday, I was hoping to get some digs in on some of the locals here but alas, I'll have to do this from afar now LOL

The game last night was intense (at least for me) I was holding my breath the whole game. I think if the Pens win game 4 it's going to 7 games.
