George Carlin dead at 71

Post by Narrock »

No big loss. He was an idiot with some very strange philosophies, and wasn't funny anyway.

I disagree. I think it's a very big loss.

RIP man

I'm bummed about this, I enjoyed his routines and a few of his books.

One of my favorite comics of all time. He will be sorely missed. This is a very sad day. :(

So someone you think is an idiot and unfunny has no value?

Personally one of my favorite comedians of all time. I was surprised his heart didn't give out much sooner, though; he had heart attacks 20 years ago I think.

Absolutely classic. I just opened the web browser and said to myself, "let's see how bad Mindia trashes George Carlin on a thread he probably started".

Lowe and fucking behold HAHA.

The hilarity comes in seeing how you liberals and atheists jump in to defend and laud Carlin's modus operandi. Birds of a feather...

I think Carlin was a douche-bag, and that 90% of his schtick wasn't funny. He was too cynical and disrespectful of my (and the majority of American's) viewpoints on God, Christianity, morals, ethics, and overall societal code of conduct and decency. I do feel bad for his family, and I certainly hope God is going to be lenient with this piece of dung.

I don't think anyone cares that you don't like him, it's that you went out of your way to make a thread celebrating his death. I mean you can't dislike someone for disrespecting your view on God and then turn around in the same breath and pronounce your undying support for Rush Limbaugh who disrespects anyone who doesn't agree with his viewpoints - it's simply hypocritical.

I don't agree with a lot of your views, and you know that - but I don't fault you for having them, and I'd certainly never wish ill on you for them. Celebrating someone else's demise because you don't like what they believed in isn't just un-Christian, it's a bad quality in any person regardless of their beliefs, and you're smart enough to at least acknowledge that it's not cool.

You care to rephrase that? I don't think I'm covered there and I certainly don't see anything to celebrate in the man's death.

the hilarity comes from a dude that's closer to 50 than 30, acting like a 9 year old and behaving as unchristian as possible, completely in the face of his professed religion

pure comedy~

Read my post again... I didn't celebrate his death. If I wanted to celebrate his death I would have posted balloons and happy stomp feet icons. I didn't, did I? Oh Snap. And I also posted later that I felt bad for his family. I just don't feel like his death was a major loss to the comedy crowd because I just feel that 90% of his schtick was childish and retarded... kind of how I feel about Tikker's posts. Anyway, I can think of a dozen comedians that are/were WAY funnier than carlin could only have wished he was as clever.
