Inside each person lives two wolves. One is loyal, kind, respectful, humble and open to the mystery of life. The other is greedy, jealous, hateful, afraid and blind to the wonders of life. They are in battle for your spirit. The one who wins is the one you feed.

What if I get mauled by a bear, mountain lion, Ultramegachicken!?
I should have that in a few days if the delivery would hurry the fuck up. Built-in GPS and other toys for my nerdery.
Anyways, traveling cross-country alone is just plain stupid lol
Having another friend there with you isn't going to help much in the case of animal attacks.
I've travelled cross-country solo driving a few times; not quite the same, but it did help somewhat.
Plan stops ahead of time. Check in points if you will. Give yourself some leeway and if you don't make it there in time, make that phone call. If you get there ahead of time, let people know and move along to your next target.
An easy way to accomplish this would be to have someone reliable to call who could help arrange emergency shit if needed in any given part of the country and also keep a blog (sad as it sounds). Encourage friends and family to read that blog and add to it at regular intervals.
I went to New York alone and walked around most everywhere by myself without a cell phone. Though, haha...it took me three days to get out. But I got out.
I saw your post and was going to comment because I was all 'really, 10 pounds already?' and I was worried that you were losing too fast and obviously that's not good! but then I realized this post is already a month old so you're doing lovely and I'm not worried anymore
time flies >.< congratulations =) I hit 12 gone last week, 30 more to go for me =x
