I'm thinking of trying out the MMA training route.

Saw him at the gym today and we got to talking and he said I should give it a shot at least.

Would give me a new goal to work for. I've just kinda been working out for a while now with no direction daily or just about.

I just don't want cauliflower ear...that shit looks disgusting and I can't imagine a chick wanting to get close to anyone with THAT.

Then don't do it if you're worried about that because it seems like it just comes with the territory

I had a friend here doing muay thai and I always wanted to get into that or regular boxing but I haven't started yet. I don't want to do MMA because it doesn't really appeal to me, regardless of how effective it would be in a real world situation compared to boxing. I kind of just like doing that stuff for myself and boxing and muay thai are pretty classy imo

start out with something like Judo then

it's a great gateway into MMA, fantastic workout, and will give you a good idea if you want to get into MMA or not

I don't give a fuck about the real world applications.

I'm talking from a strictly athletic point of view.
