the saddest part of it all is that it isn't shocking.

what's come of our democracy when this type of thing just makes you shrug and say 'what's new?'

Well, for one there is no federal constitutional right to vote. Now before someone comes along and recites the 19th and 15th amendments... those are not "rights" to vote - those are protections for minorities and women if in the event the fed allows the public to vote they cannot be discriminated against and disallowed to vote. Now some states may have rights to vote in state held elections in their respective legislation - but there is no "right to vote" for federal elections.

Anyway - just sharing. But to the point of this... I am not surprised either. I would be money that both parties are guilty.

We can't even have a fair election for fuck's sake. This country is so fucked it isn't even funny...

I don't know why, but I'm thrilled that I knew both of those facts.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sixteenth_ ... nstitution

Income taxation of wages, etc.

The courts have interpreted the Sixteenth Amendment as standing for the rule that the Amendment allows a direct tax on "wages, salaries, commissions, etc. without apportionment."
