.. That's awful! I'm not really sure what I'd do if I witnessed someone harming one of my dogs, but I think that'd be one of the few things that would piss me off enough to snap and actually get physical with someone.
yeah, i'm pretty sure that had it been a dude, punches would've been thrown. josh was flaming pissed. i was more concentrated on trying to calm the dog down (and trying not to cry from the bite on my hand)
and yeah, alex, i agree. brothers sucks balls. we only went there to see ryan and then we left as soon as we'd had a drink with him. fuck that place.
for the most part, i'm not all about bar snobbery. brothers is really the only place that truly bothers me. and i don't really like woodys that much, either.
i like sandy's, and so do a lot of my friends, so probably i will not stop going there. besides which, we go out so rarely that none of this really even matters hehe
My older kids are "too cool" to dress up for Halloween anymore apparently. I took my little guy out (he's 2 now) and he was Bam-Bam. I dressed up, too, as Betty...first time in many years. It was fun.
Hope you all enjoyed yours!
p.s. Haylo, you can bring the kids my way next year...we don't have that weird new stuff like you do there.

ehh i hear what you're saying but really it's not bar snobbery, it's recognizing which bars cater to douchebag frat types and which bars are just places full of cool people having beers
douchebag bars:
brothers
iguana's
brass rail
downtown
main st.
woody's
borderline bars, could go either way depending on the night:
hah, there are so few bars on that list that i've even been to!
my favorite bar is barrymore's, but it's really expensive. i used to really dig voda (the back half of iguanas) during happy hour on fridays--$2 off awesome martinis and free food--but new ownership has made it less cool. OH and the starlite lounge is BITCHIN.
for out-of-the-way bars, i like libations too on 56th & hwy 2 and fat nappys. and the first ave (and harry's wonder bar) for karaoke. :D
barrymore's is okay, but it gets crowded really fast (i think b/c it's so narrow)
voda imo is for fratty types who graduated and got decent jobs and want to go to iguana's but feel too old ;\
starlite is good, but it was better when it first opened. they played 50's and 60's swing/big band instead of modern crap, and there were no big-screen TVs. they were devoted to recreating the period, now it's like any other bar aside from the vintage decor and upscale drink selection
for out of the way joints, i am always a fan of the lancaster lounge on 40th and old cheney. libations too is decent, and for karaoke there's always the cellar on 70th and O. don't like fat nappy's, too white-trashy
