i dunno arlos, i still think Vs. is a damn good rock album, it had an energy and intensity that not even Ten had

Vitalogy was mostly good, but a lot of lame pop crept in: nothingman, corduroy, better man

then they fired dave and it was all downhill after that

some seriously nice atmospheric black metal going on here. nice sounds from everything except some of the drumming. really recommend the second and last tracks. i love the whole release tho honestly.

The two times Ive seen Korn were amazing. And like Harrison was talking about, from what I remember, Davis didnt say a single word between songs. He went straight from song to song. Was pretty bad ass. Especially the first show when they opened with Blind. the second was alright, but not as good as the first. Was the wildest show Ive seen too, the first one. In the half hour before Korn went on, they cranked the sound and railed out stuff like Pantera. By the time Korn went on, there had already been fires burning in the field and riot police breaking up the crowd because we were so amped, and they werent even on yet.

Oh and the BULLSHIT of it, WAS GUESS WHO CAME ON NEXT, motherfucking Linkin Park. WTFWTFWTFWTF. I stayed for 2 songs and left. Linkin Park, following Korn. When Korn went off, the crowd on the field emptied out mostly and was replaced by the geekfest that is Linkin Park fans by the thousands. It was pretty hilarious. You had all the tattooed, metal looking guys just walking out, and filling right into their places were the LP kids. Mostly 13-16, all LP t-shirts, weak horns in the air, squeeling like little girls. The pit (that was the entire field) turned into a bunch of weird kids squeeling and jumping in circles. Was pretty sad. They all came up from the seats of the amphiteatre because they couldnt handle the Korn crowd. Bunch of pussies. We watched hundreds of them run down into the seats once Korn started because they didnt like being bumped around. Boohoo, its a rock concert, IMA BOUT TOBREAEAKAK!

So yeah, I went and listened to some Linkin Park songs and some Korn songs and I think they sound a lot alike. They both sucked equally in similar ways.

They are both crap pop metal. Korn just happens to look like the members stink like BO.

ehh i disagree. korn created a lot of unique textures and sounds, and their songs varied to a wide degree, whereas you can literally superimpose one LP song on top of another and they line up perfectly. korn's vocalist, while i do in fact loathe his voice, put a lot more heart and soul into every line than the entire cast of LP has put together. korn's guitarists pioneered new ground in the types of sounds guitars can make-- LP needs computers for that, and it's still not as interesting.

so like them or not (i sure don't), korn definitely outclasses LP in both talent and songwriting. though i guess that isn't really saying much-- i've heard more inspired musical performances while watching strangers play Rock Band 2 in best buy than i've ever heard from LP.

This is why he's a tool lol

I stopped listening to Korn years ago, but to compare them to LP is retarded.

Korn - Talent
LP - Tools

Yeah, those were genre-breaking albums IMO. They were certainly different than most anything out there at that time.

Follow the Leader had a few good tracks, then subsequently all albums after that were worthless to me.

I never cared for Korn much. Seemed a bit much of the same thing as Rage Against the Machine in some ways, albeit different subject matters.

Yes, I know that's over-simplifying, but still.

except korn's a bunch of mangy hacks and rage against the machine's full of people with Ph.Ds in politics, so their "raging" actually made a lot of sense. korn was more like "daddy touched me when iw as a kid. ROAR"

nope, it makes interesting lyrics. and shame on you for saying korn "broke new ground" in guitar sounds (what exactly do you mean, anyway? what songs in particular have ground-beaking guitar work?) and then turning around and dissing rage. morello is both of korn's guitarists and then some

Korn's identifying sound was Fieldy on bass IMO.

As far as guitar-work went it was run of the mill regardless of Head and Munky being talented or not.

Korn and RATM are very similar in a lot of ways. Just lyrically disparate *shrug*

I despise preachers in the music world. Some of my more favorite bands have gone the route of bashing politics as a basis for their album and it's quite sickening. I don't listen to music to raise my stress level.
