Loot
What did you pull in this holiday season?
I got a bottle of absinthe, a 2006 Gibson Les Paul, an early 80's ProCo Rat distortion pedal, divorce paperwork and orders to Korea. Kind of a mixed bag, but I'll take it.

Re: Loot
I'm officially the last person in the world to get a GPS. So I got that.
I also got an All Clad griddle, which is totally awesome: http://www.chefscatalog.com/img/product ... 05_285.jpg
And a bunch of clothes.
And little big planet.
And this Ryobi power tool gift pack: http://sitelife.woodmagazine.com/ver1.0 ... .Large.jpg
And in shopping for my wife I learned the difference between "boy short" and "cheeky" panties, which was more of a present for me than it was for her. 5 for $25.

Re: Loot
My brother bought me a fridge. I still havent received it yet but he said its "like one of the fridges that you'd see on Cribs". I treated myself to a filet mignon, a couple of Lacoste shirts and a BlackBerry Storm. My brother got an iphone, deck for his car and a North Face jacket.

Re: Loot
new bowling ball, wii fit, the audacity of hope, a mini chinese waving kitty, new purse, and an obama action figure. the coolest part, though, was jonathan making a scavenger hunt throughout the house for me to find all of them. I clearly suck, though, because I needed help with like 3 of the clues. only super easy one was the garden state reference where he hid one in the dishwasher.

Re: Loot
GeForce 9800 GTX 512 meg PCIE video card.
Ken Burns' Civil War documentary on DVD
Fallout 3
ITunes gift card. (already used most of it to buy Portishead's Live in Roseland, NY album)
That's it. The bulk of the present-giving went o my brother's kids, pretty much, which is only to be expected.
As for stuff I gave out, I gave my brother 2 tickets to the Walking With Dinosaurs arena show so he could take his 5 year old elder son, who is on a huge dinosaur kick these days. Figured my bro is really busy at work a lot, so rarely gets to do stuff just him and his older son, so why not something his son will be sure to be agog over and let 'em spend a few hours together, just them 2?
Gave my mother a DVD she wanted, my aunt got a Godiva Chocolates Hot Cocoa assortment that she'd asked for, and I gave my dad 1 of 2 tickets to a Sharks game later this month. He took me to my first hockey game when I was knee-high to a duck at like age 4, and I loved it. So, I know he's never been to a game at the Shark Tank, which is an awesome spot to see a game, and given how the sharks are doing this year... So, I'm taking him to the Calgary/SJ game.
Anyway, I think I gave better than I got, but isn't that the point?

PS. Icarra, once when me and my brother were kids, and we would get each other stocking stuffers, I actually DID put coal (well, charcoal anyway) in his stocking. Wrapped up in wrapping paper and with a bow on it, after telling him it was the best gift ever, even...

Re: Loot
I loved the presents I gave out. It helped me get into the jollies earlier this year, so the music was even nice...going ahead and buying those gifts definitely helps.
My favorite were the "D" cups for our family chinese christmas fun thing...our last names are "D"s so I bought a cool set of tumbler cups with a "D" embroidered on the inside, and labeled it "D cups". My son got a pair of Costa Del Mar's and some very cool hygiene products. He's all big now. I truly loved my holiday season...I enjoyed my company and everything I did. It's been hard returning home..

I don't have a GPS. I'm quite content to retain the title of "directionally challenged", tyvm.

Re: Loot
I don't own a GPS either, though I wish I did, because I have such a hard time reading/seeing the street signs whenever I go anywhere new. But I rarely go anywhere new without Ugzug anyway, and he has one.
So I will continue to rely on printed-out directions and squinting at street signs.
By way of loot, I got some clothes, a watch, some baking goods (silicone measuring cups & a rolling mat), and other misc. goods that I had picked out for myself so they weren't a surprise. The biggest thing was that we finally got some Wii games. We'd lasted about 6 months with only the Wii Sports and Rayman's Raving Rabbids. We begged friends, family and Santa for more games, and ended up with: Super Smash Brothers, Mario Galaxy, Wario Land Shake It, Cooking Mama, Let's Ride (for the step-daughter), Rayman's Rabbids 2, Rock Band 2, Guitar Hero World Tour, Lego Star Wars collection, Call of Duty, and Harvest Moon.
Our Wii is finally getting some play time!
