Money controls the market more IMO and if you have enough of it, you can make your own demand, then control the supply to maximize your profit. You can see this in all types of industry.

Yeah people thought like that in the beginning. That supply creates demand. 'Say's law' or whatever. But that doesn't work at all. Because demands for goods obviously drop during economic slumps. That obviously leads to people losing jobs. And unemployment in labor markets encourages a business to cut more corners to stay on its feet. So instead of prices adjusting for equilibrium you have prices adjusting to quantity availability and that leaves a lot of chance for recession etc

I wasn't trying to imply that supply and demand can't make or break a market / industry, we are seeing something like that now but I view this more as fear than supply vs demand.

I also wasn't saying that supply creates demand, I was saying that money creates demand and that is what the engine requires to run, not demand, but money.

You don't start or buy anything without cash and without that supply and demand mean very little.

I was also saying that a lot of money, can create demand, in terms of rich companies putting smaller companines in the same industry out of business. Or even rich companies completely killing demand and intentionally not making it possible (like the electirc car, or any number of pharma. companies). This would allow a company to 'rig' the market and we see that all the time as well (ala MS, Apple, intel, many tech companies use these techniques).

I see what you're saying though too :)

i think its funny how he talks a bout creating 'green' jobs with this windmill and solar crap. Kind of a double edged sword if you actually stop to think about it. Getting away from coal or whatever to make say, 20 jobs at a solar factory, then shuts down a coal mine that employs a few hundred people. Ive even heard them say it before, all that we can produce THIS much energy with and create 50 jobs for the area! Its all automated! Creating jobs should not be the goal of all this green talk. Because there will be tens of thousands out of a job in states like mine, Illinois, Indiana, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, and Kentucky. So unless they decide to wake up and let the coal industry coexist with the other upcoming sources of energy by putting more money into the clean coal technology and helping the power plants implement it, the whole creating green jobs argument is stupid. You are just trading new jobs, by getting rid of others. Doesnt make any sense.

If they want to create jobs, the first thing they should do is start with GIVING US OUR FUCKING JOBS BACK, that are being outsourced by the thousands and thousands, to the japs, towelheads, and quickie mart indians overseas. Giving Americans the godamn jobs they once had back would be a wonderful start.

And all this talk of monopolies makes me laugh too. Isnt that the point of business? To beat the competition? I know I sure as hell arent trying to coexist and help my competitors out and letting them have work that I could do or something. What the fuck do you expect them to do? Its business. Business means make money. Best way to make money = shutting down the competition. Even though in some cases it could give us no other options but to buy from a certain company (like Microsoft for example) and maybe cost us more money, its still stupid to me when people bitch about it. To me, a monopoly just means its either a board game, or a company that has made some godamn good business decisions and made it to the top, and is staying at the top. Hell, if im lucky, maybe someday my company can be a fuckig monopoly, that would be fucking awesome. You dont get to that point being unsuccessful.

We'll see how it goes when he actually starts getting something done. If you recall Bush was once at a 90 percent approval rating as our country rolled up it's sleeves to deal with another crisis. Part of the reason Republicans are giving him good marks, is his recent efforts gravitating toward centrism. I have to say if he does indeed govern more as a centrists then his voting record, campaign promises and past stances would suggest I'll be pleasantly surprised. This however would be the most difficult thing for him to achieve and I seriously doubt it's going to last.

She landed more flat notes and couldn't even reach the necessary octave to complete the song satisfactorily.

:dung:

Chief Justice fucked it up and "Barry" gave him the "are you sure about that?" look so the Justice corrected himself. Go watch it again.

YOU watch it again. Barry was the first one who fucked it up. The second sentence had too many words in it to remember for Barry. Roberts fucked up after that.

He says, "I will execute..." and paused as his mind went blank. I know you'd like to blame it all on Roberts, Tossica, but here's a link for you to watch over and over again until it sinks into your walnut-sized brain.

I don't have time to respond to every retard here, but the singing part of Urethra Franklin was just something else I noticed about the debacle-of-an-inauguration, and it was worth mentioning.

ha, well, we've all always known that, but it never ceases to amaze me that he just continues the inane idiocies that he does after he's proven wrong infinite times. it's always entertaining to respond, because then he just starts tripping over himself with "LOL you're retarded" because he can't say anything else.

he's a good guy outside of the political arena.

I wish I could see a number on how many jobs it would recreate if he would make companies stop putting all these jobs overseas. Give our Americans our fucking jobs BACK assholes. It makes me sick to think how many american people are starving and cant make a paycheck, because their job was given overseas to some cheaper, quickie mart guy in India. I still say thats where they should start, rather than trying to create NEW jobs here, recreate the OLD damn jobs.

actually if you study outsourcing you'll find that most facilities are cleaner than their american-based contemporaries and the quality of the working environment is generally better in most ways. there are weird third world sweatshops, no doubt, but not that many. that's just what they tell you about in the news. the companies like wal-mart that ignore codes of conduct and whatnot

it's a good thing for some reasons, having to do with resources, but generally i agree that the jobs should stay here on our soil
