Try adding -w to your shortcut.(I think that's the parameter) It might run in a window and not fullscreen.

It's ancient, so it's likely just a driver issue with running it fullscreen.

i get a access violation c000005 crash

it worked fine in vista. seems like directdraw issues. the option for the 3d in the d2vid test disappeared and it has the 2d directdraw option only now. so lame.

i can't make my bladerunner game work either. all i can play is nox and new games >:(

I kind of like the dx9 shots better =/

lol I was thinking the same thing... especially the flight sim shot. The dx9 looks crisper to me, whereas the dx10 shot looks a little matted in comparison.

I think the water especially in the DX10 shot looks vastly more realistic than the incredibly over-reflective stuff in the DX9 shot from the flight sim. In the Conan stuff, the depth of draw field is much better. Look at the last pairing, and look how the DX9 one just goes to a blank green background not too far int he distance, where the DX10 one shows stuff much further away, and has greater lighting detail. Just seems more real-looking to me to actually see trees in the distance in a jungle than just blank light green.

It's all personal taste in the end, though.

yeah, the dx10 are hands-down better in every way, graphically. some people just like the feeling of old games or something. personally i like dx11 now that i'm using it. it's a lot better except all these whack directdraw issues with old games. makes me want to dig up my old 350mhz P2 with like 128mb of ram and a 8mb video card or whatever just so i can play them all again

yep it uses the same kernel and everything. it just runs about 50,000x better. after toying around on the beta for a while now i don't want to use xp anymore at all
