It has nothing to do with a curse, it has everything to do with the belief that a gun free zone is safe and the laws and rules built around that ignorance.
Raymond S. Kraft wrote:The history of the world is the history of civilizational clashes, cultural clashes. All wars are about ideas, ideas about what society and civilization should be like, and the most determined always win.

no we should just fuckin make them illegal. a majority of gun crimes are committed with the victim's own weapon so what the hell?. we're the only country where guns are this out of control. why can't we do something about it

As much as I dislike using wikipedia, it's easier than wasting my efforts hunting down statistics from the actual sources they already have listed.
(In this case the source is http://www.unodc.org/pdf/crime/seventh_survey/7sc.pdf )

So read up on how wrong you are, it might be fun.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_violence

That's clearly depicting ours as the only country with a problem.

My favorite part:

"20 percent of U.S. homicides occur in four cities with just 6% of the population – New York, Chicago, Detroit, and Washington, D.C., and each has a virtual prohibition on private handguns"

*GASP*

Similarly, blaming an inanimate object for the actions of a person or persons is fucking ridiculously stupid.

so you did read the link you posted right? where it says 65% of our homicides are with a firearm and the only country that beats us there is thailand (no surprise)? the other countries that have firearm homicides based on every 100,000 should just be illustrating my point even more. that almost everyoen in those shitholes have guns but they hardly use em as a means for homicide compared to us. and apparently thailand. and some other shitholes come close, like columbia etc. so thanks for illustrating my point for me i guess. while at the same time trying to one-up me and be a smartass like you usually do

and yeah that's more or less my point. guns are fine and great and i like to shoot em too. but i don't see a lot of point for guns in a big city because all it basically creates is crime

Guns don't create crime. They are a symptom of the problem.

I would bet my life on it that almost nothing would change but the tool if every gun were to magically disappear.

You can't compare the numbers. The statistics aren't designed to be compared like that.

I'm just saying we're not "the only country where guns are this out of control." Because that's a flagrant crock of shit.

But the problem is caused by the culture that protects these guns like they’re a necessary tool. It's this Dirty Harry, from my cold dead hands, attitude that's so pervasive in your culture that is partially to blame for these guys acting out their Rambo fantasies.

Remove the guns, and you remove the gun obsession.

I agree with that too. I think the deal is folks get all worked up about the 2nd and just because it is written it has to be that way, but it doesn't.

If you ban guns for 1 year = no change, 5 years = minor/medium change, 10 years = medium/big change, 20-25 years, = stories around the camp fire about "back in the day when guns were legal" . . .

Zan it comes down to folks being afraid, of what, they don't know, but what they do know is there is a piece of paper that's got these words on it that say us Americans get to have guns, and that is enough in their minds, there is no other need to justify or vilify from the other side.

IMO if the founding fathers saw the results of the 2nd in America today, they'd have big regrets :\.

I dont feel i should have to give up my rights to protect myself becuase other people act like assholes. Detroit is like 20 mins from my front door and beleive me the animals find thier way to the suburbs.

To the gun banners I ask this. Why do all of these shootings take place where the people arent armed and dont shoot back ? Theres obviouly a million gun laws on the books why dont they work ?

Gun crime is crazy fuckers doing crazy things, economicly desperate doing desperate deeds and drug disputes. Do something about the growing number of have nots and take the drugs away as a means for bad guys to make money and you will clear a lot of this problem up. The one that you cant stop is crazy people doing crazy things because they are unstable and dont give a fuck. You ban guns in the usa and you will see a rise in crime becuase the bad guys and gangsters wont give em up.

That's the same as blaming money for theft. It doesn't make sense.

People kill other people for more complicated reasons as a society than your incredibly simplistic notion that the tool of murder somehow creates the problem by existing.

Actually my notion is hardly simplistic and would require you to examine the situation objectively which isn't something you're capable of doing.

If you grow up in a world were you fathers are taking you to the gun ranges every weekend, or bringing you out in the woods to kills some bucks, eventually one of those kids is going to take his gun obsession to the next level. It happens time and time again. If a pornstar has a kid, chances are they'll be a slut. If some wackjob gun nut that reads guns and ammo talks to his kids about how awesome the new glock so and so is, guess what, he's going to become a gun nut.

You have to ask yourself, what are you trying to protect? Is a tool that is going to make you safe (even though statistical evidents shows that guns don't adequately provide you any safety) or are you trying to hold on to a cultural obsession that does you know good at all.

But it doesn't make you safer. It just makes you think your safer. It makes you think your a big tough man that doesn't take shit from no one. That's all part of the problem because the other guy that you want to use it on feels the same way. He's not some faceless villain, he's a person just like you.

Yea the second he broke into my house his human rights ceased to exist. I only wish i would have been home on one time. I think I would feel bad that i had to talk to the cops and jump through hoops but not for the man I wish I could have killed.

Again tell me whats its like to be terrorized out of your home. Do you know what your talking about or just speaking out your ass?

Sorry, Spazz, but robbery is not a capital crime. You shoot an unarmed man that's just trying to steal your TV and kill him, good chance you'll be brought up on charges. I'm not in any way arguing against your right to own the gun, but killing someone when your life isn't in danger is just going to get YOU locked up for a long long time.

What im saying is . If i was home and someone broke in Im not going to wait and see if hes armed or what hes up to and im pretty sure I would be in the clear to do so. You hear bang in the night find a guy and your going to ask if hes got a gun before you kill him ?
