Ok, he was an eccentric guy. He never had a chance to grow up because he started in show business at such a young age and was put through the ringer by all of the adults around him.

He was accused of horrible things but was acquitted by a jury of his peers and he wasn't accused of anything fucked up by anyone who wasn't obviously looking for a pay day.

I can honestly say he is the #1 reason I love music as much as I do because the first artist I really listened to as a kid was Michael Jackson.

Yes, it's a big loss and someone we probably take for granted because the media got a hold of him, chewed him up and spit him out.

So I'll always remember Michael Jackson the way I knew him when I was 5 years old.

wow, I was flipping through the channels and passed CNN about 6:15 and it was talking about the usual gibberish with iran and all that, then i flipped back through the channels and saw that he was dead. Crazy. He had such a huge impact on music in this country. I dont like his music, never did, and prolly never will, but hes such a big figure nonetheless.

I still think hes a weirdo. Ive also always believed the love little boys shit, and if the pedo stuff is actually true, I hope hes burning right now. So im going to hold the fake RIP bullshit

Uh, no, the moment he decided to moleste little boys, was the moment he lost his right for me to care if he died at 7 or 70.

Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty?

Guy was an eccentric creepy weirdo no doubt, but I never thought of him as a child molester. Saw him as a 9 year old boy in a disturbing whitish plastic adult body.

He was the greatest entertainer ever pretty much but he didn't really write songs. All his hits were written for him.

Just because a court didnt charge him, doesnt mean I dont have to to believe he didnt do it. OJ got acquitted too, and I still think hes a cold blooded killer

And yeah Toss I think its hilarious when some people say so and so is an amazing musician, when they dont even write most of their songs. big difference between entertainer and musician (to me, musician is playing an instrument, or even writing music and singing, but not singing and dancing to what someone else tells you too)

But I guess like 90% of people today have songwriters for them, or at least in mainstream music

If you look at the behaviors and idiosyncrasies of a child molester, you'll see that Michael doesn't represent any of those. The only thing he's guilty of is being weird and living in his own world. He loved kids. He gave so much to them. Child molesters don't love kids, they lust for them. I don't think Michael was like that at all. I think that his behavior around kids was inappropriate for an adult, simply because as adults that shit's weird, but I don't think for 1 second that he ever victimized a child. Anyone who does believe he molested a kid is basing their opinion on bullshit accusations and overblown media coverage.

As far as Michael the entertainer, he is without a doubt the greatest single act that ever set foot on the stage. Pop and R&B were shaped by him. Dancing the way it is today was shaped by him. Usher, Timberlake, Chris Brown, the list goes on forever of prevalent artists who take inspiration from him. And yes, he did write his own songs, or at least co wrote them. Billie Jean, his biggest hit, was written by him alone. It's one thing to say you didn't like his music and that's cool, but you can't deny the fact that he will go down as a music legend. Calling him "talented" is a meteoric understatement.

I agree to disagree with you, on pretty much all points

And saying his behavior is inappropriate around kids, is a 'meteoric' understatement to me. Inviting kids over for wine and a good jerk off session is beyond inappropriate. Ive seen some professionals say he just has a mindset of a kid and didnt mean anything by it, but in my eyes its still grounds for a bullet in the head. Being a kiddie lover is being a kiddie lover. Hes no different to me than the truck driver that I used to conract to haul for me, before we found out he did a bunch of years in prison for moloesting a 6 year old family member and a guy in the shop beat the shit out of him. I dont guess we'll ever come to agreement on this

I already said, as an *entertainer*, he will go down as one of the best of our time, if not THE best

similar to mike tyson, we created a monster. that's what happens when you give undeveloped prepubescent boys that are somehow outclassing everyone else in leagues way above them millions of dollars. they grow up wrong. or don't grow up at all

I don't believe he ever did that stuff is what I'm saying. When I say inappropriate, I mean sleeping in the same bed or playing with kids the way a kid does. As an adult, we really can't do that shit anymore without people looking at us like we're some sort of freakshow child molester (as you're clearly demonstrating). Kiddie lover is a kiddie lover? Not quite. There's a pretty solid difference between a guy who uses ice cream and xbox to lure a kid to his house to touch his junk and bust a wad doing it vs a guy with an upbringing that lacked a childhood and compensating for it in his adult life by acting like an 8 year old. The difference is the sexual component and I will disagree that there was one. I don't think the amount of love and dedication he had for kids would ever let him do something like that even if he wanted to. Again, dude had some loose screws and acted inappropriately as an adult to a child, but there was no sexual component there and I couldn't ever believe that he would victimize a kid.

As far as his allegations and negative media coverage and opinions that he's a sexual predator. It's really simple. He's a hard guy to understand. Why bother trying to understand or accepting the fact that you could never understand a guy like that when you can just pin bullshit on him and say "Oh, maybe that's why he's weird and has a girly voice! He rapes kids!".

    This is incorrect.

While his Jackson 5 songs were of course written for him, being a child and with Motown, the reason they left the label was so they could have creative control and write their own music. Starting with "The Jacksons" album in 1976 with the CBS Records label, Michael began writing his own songs. Songs such as "Shake Your Body Down To The Ground", "Can You Feel It?", and many others were Jacksons hits written by Michael.

For his solo career, with the exception of a few written for him by Temperton (mainly for the "Off The Wall" album), they're pretty much all his own compositions. "Don't Stop Till You Get Enough", "Workin Day and Night", "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'", "The Girl Is Mine", "Beat It", "Billie Jean", "We Are The World", the entire "Bad" album except for "Man In the Mirror" were all written by Jackson, same with the "Dangerous" album.
