The Warriors
Wow I just picked up a PS2 and bought "The Warriors" for $17.99. It's amazing.
Check it out on PS2 or XBox. It was made by Rockstar.

Re: The Warriors
PS2s are great
Re: The Warriors
Yeah. I just bought one for my 13" TV for my office and I've played it more in one weekend than I've played my PS3 in three months.
That and there are hundreds of titles at my local Gamestop for $17.99 and under. The Warriors, San Andreas, Final Fantasy X and Gran Tourismo 4 being a few.
It beats spending $59.99 per game that you beat in two weeks.

Re: The Warriors
why would you buy a ps3 for a 13" tv in an office
Re: The Warriors
psst if you're not a noob, ps2 games work just fine on ps3
How so, modding it? I have a 40gb PS3 so there is no backwards compatibility. Plus, I heard that the PS3 that DOES play PS2 games only plays a select amount and the ones it does play look like shit.
Plus...my office is my man cave and like Drem said, I'm not going to buy a PS3 for a 13" TV. And before you make fun of me for a 13" TV, we have multiple flat screens in my house, no need to have one in the office that sits on my desk two feet in front of me, the 13" works fine for that.
Re: The Warriors
check into HD loader advance
it lets you stick a HDD in the ps2 (unless you bought a slim, then you need external one) and load all your PS2 games onto it
really decreases loading time

the 60GB version that first came out actually have a ps2 chip IN them, so they are fully backwards compatible
good luck finding one though, i got really lucky on mine
compost the rich
Re: The Warriors
They had a used one down the street at gamestop for $400 a month or so ago. It was definitely tempting but I''m glad I just paid $100 for a PS2.
I can think of a bunch of other stuff to spend $400 dollars on. Plus, convincing my wife to invest in the first PS3 was justified because it's a blue ray player so it makes sense with the living room TV and the surround sound. Convincing her to get a second PS3 for a 13" office TV...would take some convincing. Not really worth the effort.
Plus she has no idea wtf "backwards compatibility" means.

Re: The Warriors
i spent 500 on my ps2 when it first came out
that being said, it's still going strong
man, I played the shit out of that system, but it's been collecting dust ever since I got a DS, then PSP

Re: The Warriors
bear in mind the ps2 games only go up to like 480p at best, and generally don't have widescreen capability.
So if you're trying to play them on larger TVs on a ps3, yes they're going to look like shit. Or at least not nearly as pretty as the ps3 games are, which basically spoils you.

$100 dollars for a ps2? i'm so glad i don't have to shop at gamestop and shit like that
don't you guys have some business where you live that just buys/sells media only? we have a place called CD/Game Exchange. i've never paid more than $2.50 for a ps2 game except katamari because it was new. and we paid i think $40 for the old, fat ps2 (over a year ago, too)
Re: The Warriors
There were used systems but i'd rather get a new one and the used (good) games are $17.99 each and there is a bin full of crappy games for under $10. But I knew exactly what I wanted so I just bought those rather than pick through a bin and waste money on games i'll probably never play.
Re: The Warriors
oh i always buy used and dig thru the cheap bins. that's where it's at. the only games i ever paid more than $5 for so far have been shadow of the colossus and final fantasy XII and katamari like i already mentioned
all the other ones:
mlb 2k7
x-men legends
budokai 3
ff X
onimusha
onimusha 2
genji: dawn of the samurai
tokyo xtreme 3
summoner
tenchu
tekken
star wars battlefront
GTA vice city
all of those i found in the 3 for $10 box. now considering i've only beaten shadow of the colossus and katamari, i've got quite a bit to do for a grand total of like $40
this is how i handle all my systems. i don't care about being ahead of the curve or having whatever's the newest thing. i didn't buy a playstation 1 until about 3 years ago. i'll likely do this with the 360 or the ps3 too. in about 5 years
moneysaver ftw

Re: The Warriors
Yeah, $59.99 per game is brutal.
