You play MTG? I used to play a lot of MTG.

Dude you need to try Legends of Norrath. It's MTG but set in EQ lore (and online). They have sprint tournies every day and major tournies every month. http://legendsofnorrath.station.sony.com/

I think it's just been said and done around here in the sense that most of us are pretty confident what we'll post regarding current events, and that often times was a catalyst for other posts.

EDIT
As for Harri, while it sucks he's having a hard time I guess right now, at the same time, I feel like putting a bit of salt on there saying, hey man, WTF it's just air out of someones mouth, how bad can that hurt? (e.g. GF: I want to break up), sticks and stones man :p

What are they worth? I have a stasis deck that has 4 of them. I should look into what all my old cards are worth. I don't think i'll be going back.

they were somewhere between $10~20 a piece depending on the edition. i got 3 earlier versions (like the era you're talkin about) for i think $15 each. then i got a 6th or 7th edition for only 8 or 9.

the ones that rake in the most money are cards like Wrath of God, Armageddon, etc., and if you managed to get your hands on the old dual lands like Plateau, Bayou, Badlands, Taiga, Scrubland, Savannah, Tropical Island, Tundra, Underground Sea, and Volcanic Island etc.... all the lands that count as two lands and if one type gets destroyed the other remains unaffected. those things are fuckin nuts

you can't sell those cards to people that want them for tourney decks because they've since been banned, but at every card shop i've been to they're in their own section selling for $25~70 a pop depending on their edition

Im glad to see you play with cards on not the on line way . I missed the lorwyn ser shards of alara had just come out when i started again. Lot of the dual lands value is dropping becuase so many lands in the shard block count for 3 types of mana have no side effects against you other than it comes into play tapped.

Birds sell for 10 just about any where. Wrath of god and armsgeddon sell for like 8 a peice I beleive. If you played real oldskool and you have any of the p9 or arabian nights cards a lot of those have insane value.

In the newest set kresh the bloodbraided , stoic angels, and any planeswalker other than ajani have high values on them

Winter orb isn't restricted anymore. A lot of the old restricted cards aren't anymore like Fork (reprinted in blue), Mind Twist and brain guyser.

I still play every month or so. We try not to go out and buy super powerful decks. We usually limit ourselves to cards that cost less then $3 just to keep things competitive, but from time to time we'll buy a box and play a draft game with the 4 or 5 of us that still play.

My newest incarnation is a blue/green elf deck that uses Heritage Druids and Distant Melody and just runs up a huge hand and casts it out quickly with things like Elvish Promenade. I just kill people with Hurricanes or squall lines. It works great.

yeah i recently came back from not playing it since high school. it took me a long time to get used to cards that came out after ice age. if you want tournament legal you have to use whatever base set (10th edition atm i think) and the newest 3 expansions only. my doran deck was like that but lorwyn's phased out now i guess

i still prefer to do what you're talkin about and not have really uber cards of rape. with that deck i posted i can get doran out in two turns if i get the right draw and then i have a 5/5 that usually makes all opponent's cards useless or weaker if they even have any out at all. no one really beats me when i use that deck unless we play with more than 1v1 because it has almost every base covered

i liked the older decks that used mons goblin raiders and stuff like that. i used to enjoy the artwork a lot. now it's all just cliche fantasy art

We play a lot of multiplayer games like two-headed or some odd 5 player game, so most of our decks become geared to big finishes rather then proper mana curves and what not.

You guys really need to try the legends of norrath trial. It's everything MTG but better.

Avatars, quests, items, creatures, abilities..... All set in Norrath lore. It's amazing. And you can pickup and play a game whenever you want. Daily tournies, casual games, and over 40 scenario games where you play a storyline and get even more cards from beating bosses etc (avatar of war, naggy, vox, etc).

Avatars are probably the best aspect of it. You can choose from four different classes. Fighter, Mage, Scout, or Priest. The class determines what cards you can play. You choose any of the Norrath races. Each have different stats and abilities. When your avatar dies you lose the game. He can equip items and use abilities and summon creatures. It adds a whole new dimension to the gameplay.

I used to be a huge MTG fan, but after constant release of expansions that lead the invalidation of all my cards in tournament play I found this to be way more fun.

The huge library of cards is one of the things i like about MTG. When I make a new deck I can search thousands of cards for interesting and original ideas.

I just started and I have 1356 cards! In fact I spend most of my time in the trade area just browsing through all the cards people have up for trade. It's insane. I've made some uber deals trading. The library is gigantic. Especially cause there are 4 class architypes to play. And non class specific cards playable by each type.

You can win by questing or killing the other avatar. There are even 2 and 4 player raids against the computer AI. We beat the first one but Trakanon's poision aura/tail swipe keeps owning us. We don't have enough healing cards I think.

Now that I think about it the coolest features is that I can play with my friends anywhere in the world anytime we want.

LoN is horrible

i've played it for a long time now since it was released in EQ and i think it's garbage. i'd rather play in real life, at a table, playing a game that people actually know, with real people i know

not to mention what zanchief said about having endless options for original decks

it's great that you enjoy LoN. now keep it between you and the other couple thousand people that don't think it sucks ass. most of the people screwing around on that are just in it for loot cards

Talking about decks. I really like the ability to have multiple decks built with the SAME cards! I can have an unlimited amount of decks made up of the same 50 cards.
