Lol reveal a weakness to someone who knows everything about me? Not really possible.

That was said in the last few days of our relationship. It was in reference to her going to the beach with her friend Danielle up from CT and Ryan, whom Danielle was staying with. I told her that day before I would leave her if she kept hanging out with him. I obviously took it back and said to do what she wanted.

Moot point though lol. The ultimatum was one of her main reasons for leaving me, she claims. Even though I took it back. She was pissed I made her decide. :dunno:

I'm a fairly patient guy too but when it comes to games and bullshit with women, my tolerance is LOW.

Lol I need to try to sleep. I will answer questions a tiny bit later.

I may feel better, but I still can't sleep worth a fucking shit. Been up for three days with 2-3 hours of sleep, tops. I'm still stressed by other shit, on top of this, even if it's lightened its load.

The sweetness comes when she inevitably realizes she made a mistake. And she probably will. That's why you should just keep your cool from this point on and act like you're over it immediately. Get out there and find some hot chick.

Stop communicating with your ex all together unless she communicates with you and when she does, keep it short and very cordial.

If she has the slightest feelings for you, they will fester and she'll regret what she did, which for you is the best payback ever. If you keep flipping out and blogging about everything she'll just think she made the right decision.

Welcome to adulthood son. Try having some kids and get yourself a nice fat mortgage to pay. I'm lucky if I get 3hrs of sleep a night.

Haha, no. There are other challenges that arise as your kids get older. You'll find out soon enough. Being a single parent is stressful. I'm sure anyone else in the same situation will agree.

I'm not in the same situation and I still agree with you Toss, but I get about 6hrs of sleep a night.

Ginz how old is your child? Not calling you out or anything but if you think your life will get easier as your child ages, you're in for BIG surprise. Also, if you think your costs for said child will go down or stay the same, wrong again, I don't care whatever statistics may say, it seems the costs are on an exponential scale as your child ages.

While I'm not a single parent, I'm the only one with a paid job, that said, I don't want my wifes job, her's IMO is less stressful in many many ways but a lot more work. My stress is almost 100% driven by job insecurity vs monthly bills, and that stress has kept me up at night without a doubt.

My child is negative one week old, meaning my wife is 39 weeks pregnant. Yes, I know, I am in for total hell. At least my wife will let me sleep at night while she breast feeds.

The next person that says...

"IF YOU THINK YOU'RE TIRED NOW, YOU JUST WAIT!"
"BETTER GET ALL YOUR DRINKING IN NOW, BECAUSE THE FUN TIMES ARE OVER PAL!"
"IF YOU THINK YOU USE A LOT OF BATTERIES NOW, YOU JUST WAIT!"

...I'm going to tell them to go fuck themselves.

Oh really, so I won't be able to sleep as much because there is a screaming child in the next room, I didn't know that.
Oh really, I am not going to be able to get stumbling drunk whenever I want because I am responsible for taking care of a child, I didn't know that
Oh really, so you're telling me that if I buy more electronic devices that use batteries I will have to use MORE batteries than I am currently using, I didn't know that

The list goes on and fucking on and I have heard every single possible "JUST YOU WAIT!" a person can imagine. I thought I heard them all until the batteries thing.

Sorry man, I wasn't trying to go that route, but you're response to Toss sort of implied as if you "knew", but you really don't, yet. Good clip off SNL though re: the "Oh really" hehe :p. LOL, I had not heard the batteries thing either, but yeah they'd be right.

I stopped all communication with her. That was my last hurrah. She can't IM me, myspace me, nothing. She can only call me. I left that line of communication open for the future in case she needed it.

I blocked his phone number via my cell phone. He was quite literally asking for a fight via texts lol. I can't begin to fathom why he thinks this is a good idea. I was pretty amused until I remembered I don't have unlimited texts, only unlimited internet.

She will realize it one day. I know this and it's not just hopeful thinking. I think she's too prideful to admit wrong though and will just never say anything. Because, I was a majorly evil prick with some of the things I said after the first few days of depression wore off and it was pure anger. :dunno:

I know, people who have children can't help themselves but give advice about parenting. It's like reformed smokers preaching about the dangers of smoking.

You didn't say anything wrong, it just reminded me of a handful of people I know who constantly talk about it like it's literally the end of the world for me and that I will completely lose my individuality. I will never be able to listen to music or watch movies again, I will never be able hang out on my deck and enjoy a margarita, my wife nor I will never be able to get in 45 minutes of exercise (says this chick who gave birth six months ago and hasn't lost her flabby gut yet) and on and on .

It's a bunch of nonsense.

it's not tho

it's hard to really explain, but it is a complete life and lifestyle change (not necessarily for the worse) but a complete change

it'll be the little things that change that surprise you

So you're saying someone who says I'll never be able to enjoy a margarita on my deck again or watch a movie again isn't full of shit? That's not a bunch of nonsense?

Yes, I understand I will have to adjust my lifestyle. Got it. That seems pretty obvious.

Good thing for me I like doing kid shit anyway. I'll take a water park over laying on the beach any day.

Long story short, I think I'll be just fine.

It's more than that dude. "YOU" are no longer the most important thing in your life. You are now responsible for the well being of another human being which like Tikk said is hard to explain. Margaritas on the deck, watching movies, etc all become far less important. It's not that you CAN'T do those things it's that everything kinda takes a backseat for a while.

it's not a lifestyle adjustment

Yes, I get it. You can shake your heads and say "no you don't" all you want.

Now, take what you guys are saying and amplify it by 100 and that pretty much sums up more than half of my conversations on a daily basis. It's like a fucking sickness. You veteran parent, fear pushers don't even realize you're doing it, it's like trying not to swear for one day and realize you swear more in 10 minutes than Goodfellas managed to do in two hours.

These are conversations that I don't even initiate and try to steer in the other direction as soon as they start but can't because people strive to find the weirdest fucking shit to compare to how hard it is to raise a kid and how I have no idea what I'm in for. Like the batteries for example. A guy saw a costco size sleeve of double A's on my fucking counter and started in with, "OH I REMEMBER THOSE, OH YEAH DUDE, YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MANY BATTERIES YOU HAVE TO BUY NOW, NO IDEA, YOU WILL GO BROKE BUYING SO MANY BATTERIES". This just after I put together three mechanical swings, three pack and and plays, a movement sensor, color monitors, mobiles, bouncers and a bear that walks and sings. Yes, more batteries, I really, really get it. Yes, I can't get stumbling drunk, yes I can't host movie night at my house on Tuesday's anymore and turn my surround sound up so it shakes the walls. Yes, I can't work a full day then go to the gym for two hours and walk through the door at 8, maybe I'll have to find a routine that works at home. Yes, I probably shouldn't go skydiving or book that trip to South Africa to swim with Great White Sharks.

The changes I have to make are fairly obvious. I realize it's a different life and if broke rednecks can raise four kids in a trailer, I think my wife and I can raise one kid just fine.

And when I say, "actually I do know how many batteries I have to buy, I can imagine it because I just put all this shit together" the guy looks at me confused, looks away completely dismissing me and says, "no you don't, no idea".

I wish they made adult sized mechanical swings. Giant sized papasan that goes forward and sideways. And plays classical music. Holy shit, that looks soothing. Boy slept in that damn thing for the first year before I got tired of changing the batteries (dont hate me, just stating the reason haha)
